Oof. That is bad for the Jets. Nothing coming from Montreal is worth moving a 3rd for, other than the 2nd. In fact the 2nd is probably the only piece that would interest the Jets.

I don’t see both teams doing these trades.
Winnipeg is a better team without Savard and Monahan.
Montreal can keep their players until their contracts expire.

Biased but this is horrific for the jets. Better options out there that’ll cost less.

While I think both of these guys could help the Jets this is WAY too much to give up, even if Schmidt was included as a cap dump/offset it'd still be too much imo.

Yrs this was an overpay for the Jets. And for what, Monahan and Savard, got to be better alternatives out there.

Habs consider but decline. First is ok for Monahan. Kupari, third and second swap isn’t enough for Savard

Monahan + Savard vs WPG 2024 1st & MTL 2024 2nd round pick would be fair
But I can’t see MTL moving David Savard this TDL (and neither during the 2024 offseason)

Don't see why the Jets do this. Montreal's interest would be entirely conditional on what they think of Chibrakov. Kupari and Stanley have zero value for Montreal so their inclusion/removal is irrelevant. A late 1st + early 2nd for a late 2nd is an upgrade, but Montreal doesn't appear to be that pressed to move Monahan and don't need to move Savard (particularly since he's been playing well this season) so it may not be a meaningful enough upgrade to make bigger trade instead of using their LTIR room and retention spot to improve returns on simpler trades.

Thats paying way too much for Savard & Monohan. I think the Jets D will be as is and if they want a RHD i'd get Hamonic from Ottawa. Cheap salary, Manitoba boy and will waive NMC on a playoff contender. But definely I'd get Monohan but I think they can just trade montreals 2nd round pick for him. But ya I like Monohn for the playoffs to play second line centre with Perfetti and Vilardi but I wouldnt over pay for a top 6 depth rental.
