1. Ottawa will be receiving Boston's 1st, not Detroit's.

2. Boston's 1st will be 25th overall or lower.

3. Ottawa will not be swapping it for Justin Barron.

I can see Barron fetching a very late 1st. I don't see him fetching the 13th overall.

Romanov got us the 13th. Basically Dach. I expect Hughes to make another deal like that at the draft knowing how many quality young dmen we have.

I value Romanov at that time quite a bit more than I do Baron right now.

Yeah Barron is kinda like Adam Boqvist and Sean Durzi probably worth a 2nd.

Durzi has proven to be much better than Boqvist so I would say Barron is somewhere in between. Still blows my mind that LA let Durzi go for a second.

Maybe because he has been drafted in 2020 and Durzi in 2018?

Barron just breaking in the lineup, on pace for 14 goals this year and doing well. Many teams would value him, especially being RHD.

MTL is not gonna trade him. They have a **** ton of good D prospects but it doesn't make sense to start shipping them out when you've just acquired them.

Its not because there was one GM out there ready to give a 13th for romanov that every other GM valued him the same.

Also, Barron WAY worst than romanov was, i dont even think he should be an NHLer. He is mid offensively and a nuicense defensively.

Barron does not help us win games, he makes stupid turnovers that cost goals. If he doesnt drasticly improve, he will not have 200 NHL games in his career

Barron isnt doing well lmao, My guy makes us lose games with his stupid turnovers and defensive mistakes.

Usualy guys who are defensive liabilities like Barrie and Deangelo can make it up with their offensive play, Barron does not.

LA lost all leverage when they absolutely needed to shed salary. If they where Patient they would got a mich better offer. Sandin got a late first and he is not good.

Exactly. They basically were in a rush to finalize the Dubois deal so LA got absolutely fleeced in the negotiations.

Yep absolutely. Also Barron is three years younger. Durzi was playing in Ahl at the same age. Barron as a bright future.

Cut it up, Barron is a much better defender then those 2 at 22. No it’s not perfect but he is improving. Kids doesn’t have 100 games played yet. Barrie and Deangelo are use st a rate of 70% offensive zone start. Barron is around 50% so that doesn’t support at all your theory
