Jake Guentzel - I'm not sure what the cap situation here is with the LTIR, but my guess is retention isn't needed here. Let me know though.

Avs aren't a fit. If they make a move it will be for a center, they don't need any top 6 wingers

I think you can count WPG out of the Guentzel sweepstakes. A 2C, both short and longterm, is more pressing, which makes Lambert more valuable to WPG right now, as I see him getting that shot next season.

I would add Vancouver into the mix for obvious reasons. They have some interesting pieces.

I was thinking Seattle before as well. Trade would have to be more than just Burakosky one for one, I would hope. Not sure if Francis will trade several pieces though.

Canucks are reportedly interested, what would your ask from them be? The only prospects I can’t see them trading are Willander and Lekkerimaki, but any other prospect/young roster players would likely be available

My personal offer would be our 2024 1st, one of Podkolzin/Raty/Hoglander/Brzustewicz, and a 2nd or 3rd for Guentzel (ideally with retention). Kuzmenko could also be included if Pittsburgh has interest

I can’t see Colorado trading for a winger as good as Guentzel. But if they did and that was the price even if they didn’t need it retention would be needed….you have weaker offers in the ACGM and you retained there

Extreme overpay from Winnipeg for a rental that doesn't fill a need.

i don't know why the pens would want burakovsky, he's constantly injured nowadays

Hoglander, Raty (Pens need center prospects badly), and 24 1st round pick for Jake with retention? Kuzmenko is intriguing, although I have no doubts he will quickly go into Sullivans doghouse. In a perfect world we take back minimal amount of cap and replace Jake in free agency/trade in the off season.

Avs decline, they need a 2C badly. They’ll dump Johansen to you with a 2025 3rd and Seattle’s 2024 5th if you want him.

Jets are in the same case as the Avs, they don’t need wingers, they need a 2C

              PIT Declines EDM, horrible return

              PIT Declines DAL

Guentz for Burakovsky? Don’t think I need to explain that one.

I don’t think Seattle wants Guentzel though tbh.

Probably something along the lines of Raty, a 2024 1st and 2025 2nd
(if retention is needed then maybe take out the 2nd and replace it with some Center prospect, Pens need those badly as I’m not sure if they’re going to rely on Poulin anymore)

Not sure how Kuzmenko would change up the deal. Also not sure if Pens would want him. They may if they want to move on from Reilly Smith’s ghosting.

However I’m not sure what the Guentzel situation is as of. Last I heard, he was going to start negotiations. As I know of now, Vancouver definitely has interest in him and I think Edmonton has interest in him as well.
