Not even remotely close.

Untouchable player + asking price not even in the stratosphere of being met.

A 5th in 2026 is not a lot but Hawks will look to free agency to bring in players before giving up picks.

There is less than zero chance that the Hawks would pay anything to take on Miles Wood for another 5 seasons.

Wood has 5 years left on his deal. Hawks aren't touching that guaranteed

The first trade is too lopsided in Colorado's favor. On paper, a 2nd pairing D for a 2C is fair, but JEEK provides too many intangibles to the Wild to be available in almost any trade.

The second trade doesn't make sense for either team, or the player. Colorado just locked him up for 6 years. He's been a great fit so far. Bednar has given him some second line minutes recently while they wait for Lehkonen to return. The player and the organization really like each other. A 5th round pick doesn't really do anything for the Avs. And why is Chicago adding a "win now" type of player and contract when they are years away from contending?

Also - Frankie is most likely done after his most recent injury. The last I heard, he's back in the Czechia. And the Avs plan for several years has been to give Annunen the back up job after Frankie's contract expired anyway.

Kurtis MacDermid hasn't played defense since last season. At training camp, Bednar confirmed that he wouldn't play on the back end at all this season.

Drouin most likely signs for more then that (assuming his play doesn't dip).

And you're missing Nikolai Kovalenko, who will join the Avs this season after the KHL season ends.

Avs are thrilled with Wood as a third-line chaos causer. Not on the block, no way they'd trade him for such a low value, and better than pretty much everyone on Chicago who's not injured, so not sure why the shade toward him.

No shade. I recognize the player Wood is and what he brings to a lineup. But Hawks GM Kyle from Chicago has made it VERY clear that he doesn't want to take on any long term contracts at this point of the rebuild. He got stuck w/ Jones, but no other player on the roster other than Bedard and Korchinski are signed for longer than 2 years now. Kyle wants to maintain maximum cap flexibility for now. That's why I say there is no chance the Hawks pay to acquire Wood w/ 5 years left on his deal.
