Now they have Raanta, Martin, Perets (with Kochetkov and Andersen out), interesting to see how that ends up, Raanta has been bad, Martin has been meh and Perets hasn't been given a shot yet for some reason

Martin was brought in because Kochetkov is in concussion protocol and he will get sent down if Kochetkov is good to go.

Perets has a 0.906 in the ECHL this year, and since the Canes have no AHL affiliate, he hasn't been able to face a single AHL shooter, he's pretty much a permanent EBUG. He did get 13 minutes and 1 shot of NHL time, but they're doing all they can to keep him off NHL ice until he's ready.

Just curious: anybody know?

Does the current established player contract require alcohol distribution from teams? As far as I’m aware, every single team has a free, self serve bar for players and provides during flights. This is knowledge passed on from somebody who was in the league during the 80s thru the 00s.

Could teams remove player/employee access to alcohol if they wanted?

Could teams bar players and other team individuals from consuming alcohol “during work hours” or “on premises”?

I’m guessing they cannot, or we would have heard about it occurring. Or maybe it does occur, but due to sponsorship type stuff, we never hear about it.

As an owner, my rule would be very clear and start on day one of the season: in a playoff spot? Let the booze flow. Outside looking in? None. Entirely too many players end up in alcohol related incidents and alcohol is by far the worst consumer product to fill a bunch of professional athletes apart from silly stuff like feeding them nails or bleach. Every other consumable “substance”, including -all- of the illegal ones, does less damage to a pro athletes body and mind, altho some aren’t far behind, whether that be from how body processes sugar, the after effects of consumption, the effects of consumption, and it’s addictive qualities.

Exhibit 14 of the current CBA lays out some Standard Club Rules, and the first one is as follows:

"Alcohol consumption is absolutely prohibited on Club flights, in airports or in any
hotel in which the Club is staying, unless specifically authorized by the Head
Coach or General Manager. In all other cases, alcohol consumption must be
sensible. If a Player has been drinking and has a vehicle with him, the Club shall
reimburse him for his cab fare home without questions or retribution."

The only other mention of alcohol in the CBA is that a player is not permitted to endorse any alcoholic beverages, with the exception of malt-based beverages such as beer or ale.

In the player contract, there are a few mentions of general "conduct", that may be used to prevent a player from drinking on-premises:

"The Club may from time to time during the continuance of this SPC establish reasonable
rules governing the conduct and conditioning of the Player, and such reasonable rules shall form
part of this SPC and the Agreement as fully as if herein written" (player can be suspended by the team for breaking one of these rules).

my bad I'll stop trolling.

I'd say his improvement is mostly to due with Brad Shaw who fixed his playstyle, Torts culture and system helps though.

He's given up taking himself out of the play to make stupid hits, He plays simple stay at home defensemen, who uses checking as a way to play defense rather than as a fun way to play hockey. Very simple plays with the puck, doesn't force stupid passes, utilizes the boards and teammates well.

Risto is marginally overpaid for his role, but he's a legit #4/5 now imo. Whenever he plays higher in the lineup he's fine typically, doesn't really change how he plays.

pretty sure the record is like 8 coaches

There hsa been some surprising ones this year though. Evason, Berube, Woodcroft all would've surprised me before the season.

Could get close to 8 ppl fired, Keefe, Ruff, Sullivan, Quinn all have hottish seats imo.

I'd be shocked and disapointed if Vincent still has a job next year

Love this for the Islanders. Seems like the kind of coach they need. One who isn't satisfied with mediocrity and stubborn enough to get what he wants, whether it be performance or personnel.

Absolutely did not see that coming though.

2-game suspension Yanni G...
Hey they got one right...good work DoPeS!
cheers

It's bc he was playing the Oilers, McMann threw a similar hit that caused blood and he got 5 and the rest of the game

Can mention other similar hits but you get the point

Yeah, I didn't see those specific ones above but did the YG one in real time.
He got what he deserved, & DoPeS got one right I guess...

Yes they've (DoPeS) messed up a ton; no doubt.
And Parros' tenure seems to be the worst IMO.

Victor Hedman is quietly putting up a point-per-game season. Did any of you know this was happening? I thought he was going to take a step back this season. I guess not.

Monahan with a nice primary assist on the power play, further reducing his trade value.

The dumbest thing is how these teams loves to play one another at home

Toronto 1-6-3 on road vs. Van but 9-1-0 at home

Vancouver 9-1-0 at home, 1-9 on road

Its just a meme rn lul
