I’m sure Hawks could find better uses of a 4th than this. Just out of curiosity; what makes you pretty sure Foligno isn’t staying w/the Hawks?

Wallman alone has better stat than Risto, makes less and os Seiders line mate. So tell me why the Wings even make this deal while adding in Rasmussen?

Both Kyle Davidson and Nick Foligno have expressed strong interest in him returning with the Hawks next year. So, your speculation on him "not returning" is based on nothing, and Hathaway is not a replacement for Foligno in the least bit. Even outside of the arbitrary comparison between the two players, Hathaway just isn't worth a 4th. I doubt CHI would pay anything for him, honestly.

Looking at next season, if the Hawks move on from Tinordi; which they should, especially as an everyday contributor; I would actually be ok with acquiring a Hathaway “type” for the 4th line. Chicago has too many “guys” in the bottom of their lineup that don’t really provide anything, they don’t bring great energy or speed or physicality… Hathaway would at least bring some bite, some physicality and toughness to a lineup that is sorely lacking it. Chicago could really use a shift disturber or two that puts other teams on their heals and hold them accountable when things get heated. Is a 4th round pick too much to pay, perhaps but I think it just might be a worthwhile investment to help the young guys play a little bigger and more comfortable.

All these trades make zero sense for at least one side of the deal if not both, that wings deal is terrible for the wings, and the Arz trade makes no sense for either side
