And yet Habs fans over value our players LMAO, this is exactly what we have been saying for weeks at min a 1st more likely if you really want to make sure you get him a 1st + 3rd

If that's the price, I'm gonna say MTL will likely be holding onto him past the deadline...

I do not see us getting someone like Barlow for him. A 1st by itself is plenty.

That should get Chevy fired.

Can't wait to see what Monahan gets traded for.

My guess is a 2nd plus a prospect or maybe a 1st that’s conditional. Many of our fans are very impatient with rebuilds, which is why the team has not done a proper one for some time.

He’s not worth that

Love Habs fans cherry picking values…TSNs Craig Button said his value was a B-prospect OR a 2nd, but that didn’t fit the narrative Habs fans want so they go looking for another one that does….

I don’t want Monahan at all, so I wouldn’t give a 2nd straight up for him

A conditional 1st makes a lot of sense for a player with Monahan's injury history, but I really don't like him as a fit for WPG.

Further tho, Barlow is among the latest of WPG's 1st round picks that are pretty much untouchable, along with Lambert and Mcgroarty. WPG is very calculated with their draft picks because they're a draft & develop reliant team. Trading promising prospects for rentals is just not something Chevy does.

Guys, read the title, that's totally not from me........................................................................

Even I think that's a massive overpay for a player like Monahan

BUT, I belive the low 1st round pick will gonna be the high-price for him.

The fourth period isn’t as credible as TSN, so I’ll take the TSN valuation over anything spewed out by the fourth period

Whatever the value ends up being, a late 1st does not equal a prospect drafted 18th overall the prior year and a 2nd round pick. They're not the same in value.

No… any 1st is too high for a defensive black hole like Monahan, with his injury history, his 5v5 stats, etc…
All he is is a faceoff and PP2 guy… nothing more.

I agree, a late 1st should be the ask but if a team really wants to make sure they get him a 1st + 3rd should do it. Barlow + a 2nd is too much though if Barlow or another prospect like Lambert is added the pick would be much later if we got one at all.

Barlow was drafted 18th in the last draft, how does a mid 1st and a high 2nd equal the Rags’ late 1st rounder?

Zero use for Monahan. He’s a bad fit as he’s not good defensively and the same can be said for his 5v5 play. On a contender he isn’t a 2C and would slot in the 4C spot. I cannot see Winnipeg giving up any significant piece for Monahan.
Might some GM in the hot seat overpay? Sure. After all Montreal fleeced Florida for Chiarot, but those don’t happen on a regular basis.
Chevy very rarely ever loses a a trade and usually pulls a shocker that no one sees coming out of his hat more often than not.

laugh Monahan is a 3C on any contender, No sane GM is giving up a 1st round pick for a 3C with hip issues.

Monahan isn't worth nowhere near a top 20 prospect alone.... a low 1st or conditional 1st is way more similar in value to a 2nd.

People are jumping ahead recently.
