Lindgren is a LHD... which perpetuates the problem.

Yeah but he could play up and down and he wouldn’t be expensive to keep . And he’s defensive . And eventually if we move Chabot too we could keep him

Like you said, it's making the cap work that's the issue.

If it is clear Matt Roy doesn't reup with LA, I believe they will prioritize finding another shutdown defenseman before going after a player like Chychrun. Spence and Clarke make it so the Kings don't have to prioritize getting an offense-oriented defenseman.

        Chychrun-Doughty
        Anderson-Clarke
        Gavrikov-UFA/Roy

        Could still make sense imo

Imagine you get Hamilton back first game of the playoffs. That would be an insane Dcorps

I can't see Winnipeg parting with iafallo or a 1st for an LHD they don't need. They've got one of the top defenses in the league why mess with that to add a player that doesn't fill a hole?

It is possible you could play Gavrikov-Clarke / Chychrun-Roy as your bottom-4 but that is spending a lot on Defense before you even have signed one goalie, let alone two. I don't think the Kings can afford to spend (Doughty, Anderson, Gavrikov, Clarke = ~$22M / Roy = $5-6M Chychrun = $4.6M ) too much more at the defensive position. It makes more sense to sign Spence to a small bridge contract than pay assets and a worse cap hit for Chychrun (who you could get for free in the free agency in a few years).

Your lines above don't work either, Anderson and Doughty (leads NHL in ice time) have rarely been separated, a big reason for Doughty returning as an offensive presence is greatly due to Mikey Anderson. This means in your lines two of Gavrikov, Roy, Chychrun, Clarke are eating bottom pair minutes.

Gotta think NYR says yes to this. I would. I’d even think about adding a 4th for Kubalik and call it a day to add a versatile winger that might fit on top line

Gotta make playoffs first. Injuries + goaltending making that looking like a coin flip proposition.

Have to agree. WPG shouldn’t do anything big. Small specific upgrade(s) if anything

        Jets Decline
Zero need tor the player and have other issues to solve
2C is our biggest need… LHD is not a need at all

Not sure that is the right dman for NJD.

We don't need offense...we need puck control out of d-zone. High success on d-zone exits, n-zone entries, high possession...low HD chances against.

Sanderson is probably more fitting, but he's not going anywhere.
