Don't think VAN wants to take on that Wilson contract

Podkolzin > Monahan
3rd > Kovacevic
Canucks pass on that deal

Also not paying a 1st+ to take on Wilson’s extension

Podkolzin at this point doesnt have that kind of value.

22 and not in the nhl (with not really any mitigating factors to it) isnt worth a 1st anymore

I don't agree that Podkolzin is better than Monahan. He isn't, and isn't trending like he's going to be. That said, i hate giving up futures for a rental. Kovacevic could play on our 3rd pairing, and is on a decent contract. Might be worth a 3rd or 4th.

I’d pay a 4th for Kavacevic to be a 3rd pairing guy next season. Podkolzin is playing really well in the AHL, and Monahan hasn’t been good this season apart from on the PP. I’d much rather keep Podz than move him for Monahan

I'd argue Podkolzin is trending in the right direction. Much likely Hoglander last yr he's gonna develop and when he comes up he'll contribute. I don't like trading him for a rental like Monahan.

You think that Podz is playing well in the AHL? I figured that by this year, he would dominate down there. They could play him in a shutdown role and he would score at a point per game pace. He's barely better than last year and isn't even top 5 on the team in scoring. I no longer rank him as a top 5 prospect in our system.

"we won't pay a 1st+ to take on Wilsons contract" as if he's a cap dump lmfaooo. Willy isn't going anywhere anyways so ya'll don't have to worry about that

hughes said hes willing to move pieces for possible offensive talent.
that being said monahan and kovacevic have value but not extremely high mtl might be able to come out on top and vancouver might win a cup its a gamble for each team

Don't think VAN wants to take on that Wilson contract

maybe not but for the playoffs having wilson whos won before and his presence alone might be smt to add as this team looks like a real cup contender kuzmenko suter dont add to the team anymore unless kuzzy finds his scoring touch hesnt gonna be sticking around guy makes 5.5 on a contender playing on the 3rd line is it possible his first year was all pp and petterson?

I get that he would like to move him for offensive talent, but Podkolzin isn’t that. He is at best a third liner. Holloway or Bourgeault are more realistic option

one more thing to add is if monahan is not good but is top 5 on the habs scoring can u tell me the players he plays with?
your top guys to add at center would be
lindholm
monahan
kuznetsov
Roslovic
henrique
that being said not much talent with cheap contracts monahan has the best contract best faceoff % and has been good on the bumper for pp and plays with bum vets like gally pearson armia or guys like ylonen who just arent talented anymore or yet.
the other contracts are bigger and more expensive to trade for
unless you wanna break up ur top line and move miller down and kuzy back with petty ur gonna need to fill that hole.

Not remotely. A player in his D+5 not in the nhl doesnt has first round pick value.

No, but doesn't mean he's available for any cheaper
