Honest question, what's the thought process behind the Sabres trade?

Avs always do some sort of AHL swap at the deadline and I think I'm higher on Neuchev than most so I'd love if he was the target. Hopefully Buffalo has so many forward prospects they don't even notice he's gone lol

He's cooking recently. Something like 7 pts in his last 6 games playing on the de facto 4th line in rochester. Strikes me as an ideal Avs target but hopefully the Sabres mgmt team doesnt forget he's there lmao

tbf Rochester is a wagon, Beaucage definitely wouldn't be enough in a trade but a guy can dream
