Kings pass on that. Would rather hang on to a #1 AHL center than a 6th/7th over paid defensemen.

Reinbacher isn't enough to get Cozens alone.

Canes have no interest in Allen. He is overpaid and that 2nd year of term is very problematic for the Canes. They just claimed Martin off of waivers, too, so while not perfect, they have no need for a goalie.

Sabres are pretty unlikely to trade Cozens for a prospect,
even a really good one

We do have young forward prospects who might be available for him though

Reinbacher is like a 5 year project. They may as well start tanking again if they did this trade

I wouldn't say 5, and at this point the Sabres are a few years away anyway. And this only happens if Mitts stays.

Jordan Harris is developing into a nice defenseman but the bottom of the defense is not an area that needs to be addressed. There's no indication yet that Harris will be more useful to us than Andreas Englund.

Agreed
We aren’t trading Cozens for FUTURES
Amazing how some of our fellow “fans” can’t seem to understand that

Reinbacher & a 1st for Cozens would be a STUPID trade

Yes it might be stupid and very risky. But what the Sabres are doing right know isn't working. And if Adams doesn't becareful the next exodus of players will start.

McMichael is likely one of the few pieces Washington has no interest in trading. He's been held out of talks in previous years and has played well in a full time spot this year, and combined with Monahan being a rental, I'd say there's no chance Washington would go for something like this.

Cozens is worth more than Reinbacher IMO but not that much more.

I didnt hide my feelings that i wanted Benson instead of Michkov at 5OA. But I think Mtl also drafted Reinbacher because they know how valuable top4 RHD are in this market. REinbacher is projected to be a top pairing RHD with smarts, skating and offensive instincts.
Cozens is an awesome 2 way center but you're looking at more of a 1 for 1 deal if Reinbacher is involved ala Seth Jones/Ryjo vein.
Cozens is the better player, I think, but the market dictates differently especially in a scarcity mindset where these RHD are gold!

Regardless, both teams decline. Neither are desperate to move on from either player and it takes a Gauthier situation for these sort of deals to happen.

I'd consider this. Hell, I'd probably do it.

Im a big Cozens fans. I love a lot of Buffalo players, honestly. But as you said there is something wrong with the mix much like Ottawa. They need some accountability in that room and even the Senators now admit that they want veterans in there to mold the youngsters.

Roy though because of the market alone, they wouldnt move him. The outcry would be nuts. Already, the media is saying they cant trade Savard because of heritage lol. Quebecois always boost their value in this market and they even try to leverage their value with that fact (Briere, PLD)

I cant imagine trading a young, cost effective top 6 Quebecois for anything less than a ransom. He's been very good the last 3 games with Monahan and Armia.

I actually almost agree with you, I think Roy is a bit much. But don't think the 1st is out of line. Kevin Fiala got a 1st and Brock Faber. At the time of that trade I believe Faber was ranked like 24th in the top 100. Fiala had a bit more of a resume at the time of that trade, but Cozens is already signed right know. Reinbacher at this point I believe is ranked 40th in the Top 100 Prospects. Don't think the trade is out of whack. But like you said this trade doesn't happen.

I agree the Calgary 1st is fine with me.
You read my mind but Hughes wont do it. These GMs arent bored like us with our make believe deals. Its fun to imagine though. But it's far too risky for Hughes. Then you add Roy, yeah that is the easiest no in the world for a Montreal GM.

To be fair. Nobody thought Faber would be this good. Defensively, sure. Yeah, he was a good prospect but he's turned into a 30 minute top pair PP Qb which is so impressive as a rookie. Every pundit said he had little offense in his game and now look at him!

Yeah Faber has really blown up, I am basically going of off when the trades would be or had been made. Faber was pretty highly ranked at the time of his trade. Nobody knew he would turn out this good. Reinbacher is in the same situation at this point. Very good prospect but how good will he be, still has to play in the NHL

Reinbacher has been hurt since November and plays on a brutal underfunded Swiss team that plays in a 50 year arena in the middle of some medieval forest. The Swiss league has gotten much better since the days of Matthews with the Ukraine war and now imports at 6 instead of 4.

If you listen to coaches of other teams like Marc Crawford of Zurich, they all game plan for the kid and there is something called the Derby where his team, Kloten plays the Zurich Lions and they just came off a big win against the number 1 ranked team, mostly, cause Reinbacher was a factor in a lot of the aspects of the game. He's the kind of player that wont be flashy but a winner!

I do that! I'm pretty sure I said in my ACGM the Calgary pick was fine but so many damn conditions that more maybe would be added with the possibility of the pick going number 2 overall.

Fun to do this fake stuff, but I am pretty confused on what direction or lack of that Adams has taken this team. Great to have all these great young players, but you need to build around them. Can't do everything internally.

The division is brutal. Florida doesnt seem to be going away any time soon as well. Thanks Boston Pizza with your terrible, overpriced food and the Empire son, Brad Treliving

I think Yzerman has the right idea thus far. They got some jam and can score a ton of goals but unlike Buffalo theyll be able to attract free agents like a Patrick Kane. Montreal has the same situation and it's a bit concerning that Hughes continually does favours for players like Petry and DeSmith for some kind of agent/player dynamic. Nobody goes to Montreal as a free agent unless they use the Habs as leverage.
