Caleb Jones was not tendered a QO or offered a contract. Chicago was happy to let him walk and you want them to trade a draft pick for him? C'mon man, make it make sense.

Tbh if the Avs were going in that direction it might be worth going one-stop shop at SEA and try to get McCann for 2C as well. Borgen isn't really a need. I'd much rather we kept Ritchie, left out Mitts who we almost certainly couldn't re-sign and used the other pieces from the Mitts trade to try for McCann. 2C & 2G solved.

You have offered pieces that are almost useless for the Sabres

McCann has a 10 team ntc, I'd rather resign mittelstadt, and trade Manson in the the summer

If you want Casey Mittelstadt, you’re going to actually have to give up something buffalo wants. That’s not what you’re doing here. Calum Ritchie is the only piece you’re giving up of any actual value and best case scenario is he becomes what Mittelstadt already is.

Ritchie could either be used to get better wing/D or once he signs his elc could be a cheep 3C. Who not what do you want for Casey?

Sabre fans are going to tar and feather me while running me out of town on a rail.
Here is the skinny the Sabres have 5 forward prospects 20 yo or younger better than Ritchie, but none are 6' 2".
Take the best player available is a winning strategy in drafting and this would be a nice return for Buffalo.
Use some of the assets from this trade to obtain a RHD.
Make it 2024 first.
BTW Seattle says new.
Taking on Johanson kills the deal.

It's like a 3 team trade, but not completely. If you guys held on to your own 1st , two 1sts in the same draft could get a quality RHD. Johansen allows the room for mittelstadt basically. Unless we can get a proven backup for RyJo.

@TJTwolf suggested that the AVE's do not need Borgan.
Replace Clurman with Johanson, the 2025 1st with 2024 1st and add (a 2nd maybe) for taking Johanson.
Buffalo would have the assets to trade for a RHD (Borgan LOL).

I'm mainly acquiring Borgen because I'm trading out Manson in the summer.

Our playoff RD looks better with Borgen, Borgen allows less PK for makar

The biggest name Kevyn Adams has traded for, after the Eichel and Reinhart trades, was Jordan Greenway. He's had plenty of opportunity to address needs through trades and has the most trade capital in the league, going back to last January. Can't trust him to execute a Mittelstadt trade let alone take those assets and make more trades to address their needs

Good question. Someone did suggest a trade for him the other day on here. Can't remember what the value was on it though.
