      Everything here looks pretty reasonable.

But just to clarify, Vegas doesn’t actually get Ottawas forfeited first, right?

Tanev would be a nice fit for the sens but that has to come with an extension

      That's right.

Much like Arizona in 2021, Ottawa loses their own 1st round pick for either 2024, 2025 or 2026.

      Vegas doesn't receive anything.

I only picked Vegas here because there's no better option in AGM.

Trading for Tanev doesn't make any sense for Ottawa at this juncture.

      Elliotte Friedman should know better.

He makes sense for them with an extension or they just go after him in the offseason

I prefer just signing him in the offseason.

And if needed, pay a 3rd for his signing rights.

I'm all for courting Tanev in the summer, but if it's a 1st I don't understand it. He's only got a couple years max of still being Chris Tanev

right it makes no sense to pay high picks for an expiring ufa with where we are currently in the standings. friedman is fried

I guess Friedman was just making stuff up to get his necessary air time. In what world do the out of playoffs Sens acquire an upcoming UFA (even with an extension), and give up so much for the priviledge.

No (sorry). If we get Tanev, it's to play with Brannstrom.

If we keep Brannstrom, what happens with Chabot / Chychrun ?

I don't know. Other than the Rangers game, in the last 6 games, the Sens have played the best hockey I've seen them play in 5 years. I'd say that we wait it out, keep the culture, roll with it until the TDL and see what happens. I wouldn't be surprised if we do better (I also wouldn't be surprised if we also fall into a gaping hole of losses, but I hope not)

2 x 4.5 in free agency or pass. Not giving up very good assets for an almost 35 years old

Cool, but I like my D at the moment. They just have to gel. It's one of the best D-cores in the NHL, but they just have to get better together. I don't see how bringing in new D will help culture and gel.

I still think we need to groom our culture, so maybe only one new player (ie: Tanev), but I don't think it's imperative.

That’s what I thought, thanks for clarifying.

Vegas is definitely most suitable to pick as they seem to have pushed the agenda pretty hard.
