3C and Top 6 Winger

Created by: KingLundqvist30
Team: 2023-24 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 29, 2024
Published: Jan. 29, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Roslovic, Jack ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Roslovic has been a healthy scratch a few times for the Blue Jackets this season. He has shown flashes in the past and I could see him being a really good fit on this Rangers team.
CBJ
  1. Henriksson, Karl
  2. 2024 4th round pick (NYR)
  3. 2025 5th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Henriksson is a solid prospect who could still become something for a team like Columbus. Given that Roslovic hasn’t really worked out there, they do not have much leverage.
2.
NYR
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony ($2,075,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Beauvillier reminds me so much of Vatrano. When he was an Islander, it felt like all that guy would do was score on us no matter what. He has size, good offensive upside, and I think he’s the type of player you want in the playoffs.
CHI
What do you think the hawks would be interested in? A 2nd? 3rd and a prospect? Let me know down below.

honestly, the Hawks would do it for a 3rd alone is my guess

Even at half retained? I’ve always been pro-Beauvillier and I think he’d be a great get.

Im not sure how much longer Beauvilier is supposed to be on IR for, but we picked him up for a 5th rounder so i'd assume if we could pull a 2nd or 3rd back for retaining on him Davidson would be pretty alright with that

Yes, as the Hawks aren't poised to make a lot of moves this TDL

If you upgrade those picks, the Jackets might even take 50% retainage. I don't know the Rangers prospect pool as well as I should, but would you happen to have any interest in moving someone like Rempe instead of Henriksson? The Jackets have way too many undersized forwards.

It is assumed that the insane amount of injuries CHI has endured this year has made the players that would've originally been on the trade block less tradable. They were poised to leverage cap space, retention slots, and picks. But it looks like CHI won't do much, and if they do make any trades they should be pretty minimal.

I think the cost for one year of retention at $2M is about a 2nd round pick. Maybe Davidson'd be willing to make that trade for just a 2nd, but I think there'd be an additional 3rd or 4th in '25 or '26 thrown in.

Which seems like a lot for Beauvillier, I know! But it also eats up their second retention slot. If they were to also move someone like Murphy, that would leave no slots to take on a chunk of a big salary as a 3rd-party to a deal.

You can keep all the prospects and have him half-retained for a 3rd. He's not a fit with us, and him being moved at the deadline is one of the worst-kept secrets in hockey. We've got so many other mid-tier prospects we'd rather just have slightly better draft capital.

Their retention slots are probably less important this year than originally anticipated, but any retention that goes beyond the current season will still be expensive. Luckily, Beauvillier expires at the end of the season and he is a rental. So, yeah, CHI probably doesn't have much use for their retention slots this year unless something too good to pass up falls into their lap.
