OTT not spending a 1st on a pending UFA who may suck at any minute, OTT is not trading chych for futures only.

The Tanev thing is confusing for me. Don't get me wrong, I like the player, just a lot of uncertainty a couple (if not less than a couple) of years down the road.

Trading Chychrun is certainly a choice...

Writing on the wall for Senko unfortunately. I'd like to extend him, but with the way Ottawa has been playing of late, just walk him out the door, take the 1st and say thanks.

Beggren? Nice. Could be a good add but one would think it'd cost more than a 4th unless it's a placeholder?

Zero chance Berggren goes for a 4th rounder. DET will probably use him to swap for another change of scenery candidate. DET doesn't need any more picks.

In all reality, unless Yzerman is overwhelmed, I think he stays with DET. There is some spots opening up next season, they could make him a guarantee when he resigns...

Would someone like Arthur Kaliyev be a change of scenery candidate that Detroit might want for Berggren ?

Not only do I disagree with the value of Berggren, but the intent.

Detroit will probably be looking for another reclamation project, not a player that, even if they hit on the draft, will be adding value from like 3-5 years from now.

I don't know why Berggren is on the Trade Block, as he was good last year excluding his defense. I have some real big questions regarding our utilization of young players from Yzerman and Lalonde.

I'd be fine if he stayed in Detroit, but most likely if he is moved he is a piece in a larger package (i.e Debrincat for Sebrango + Kuba + 1st).

Berggren + (pick) + (something else) to acquire a high impact player.

The reason Berggren is in the AHL this season is because Yzerman wants him developing with the other prospects who will be Detroit's core for years to come.

Pagnotta suggested that Berggren was on the trading block when Detroit brought Berggren up and then sent him back down, Berggren was actually brought up in case there was a problem with Kane and he could,'t go. Kane was able to go and he made his Red Wing debut and Berggren went back to the AHL. I'm not saying there is no chance Berggren traded but the logic behind Pagnotta's assumption is flawed.

Kaliyev could be a possibility, though is he that different than Berggren (offense first guys)? Broberg (though, I'm not sure what DET would do with him and the rest of the D talent). Barrett Hayton is another guy that might use some scenery change too.
