Do you realize how biased your Lindholm vs Monahan analysis is? They are the perfect comparables, so good job there, but the fact that you accept to trade for Lindholm (albeit at a lower price) and say Monahan is too expensive is ludicrous.

Monahan's cap hit at the TDL will be sub 500K, Lindholm's will be 1.2M.

Monahan has more goals than Lindholm.
Monahan has more points than Lindholm.
Monahan has an equivalent faceoff percentage to Lindholm.
Monahan plays with significantly worse linemates than Lindholm at 5-on-5.
Monahan plays with equivalent linemates to Lindholm during power plays.

Well... We are a rebuilding team selling our expiring vets and Monahan has topped every analysts trade bait board for the entire season. So it's natural that the reaction to that would be speculation on this site, which is literally used to analyze trade value.

The real question is, why do you want Lindholm but not Monahan?

You do realize you and the other Jets fans know less about what the Jets team needs are and who best fills those need than the Jets FO does right?! So when you say Monahan isn't what the Jets need but the Jets FO says they need a top 6 center and are looking at Monahan, that actually means that the Jets do have an interest and feel like they have a need also, despite what you or your alternate ego Windjammer say!

When there's a bidding war for a player the team has all the leverage they need, and montreal will just keep him unless the asking price is matched

All three trades are decent offers in the ballpark of what it'll take for Winnipeg to acquire those players but all of them could be beaten by another team too so they're unlikely to be accepted this far before the trade deadline.
