Description

Trade good stabilising vets like Monahan and Savard. Try to get first round pick value for them.

Send Xhekaj, Struble and Barron to the AHL to help the Rocket win.

By the playoffs have a line-up of:

Xhekaj - Mailloux
Struble -Barron
Hutson -Reinbacher

Hell, even send Slaf in Laval for the playoffs. Let the guys have a monster team to get far.

trade for a random bottom pairing RHD.

Bring Norlinder up for fun (he's better in the NHL than in the AHL)

Play Armia in the top 6 and Newhook at center when he comes back.

MIN is one point behind and OTT is now 8pts behind with 3 games in hand. The close we get to 5th place (I doubt we finish under the Ducks at this point who are 12 pts behind) the more chance we get at getting one of Lindstrom or Demidov.

Struble will not gonna return to Laval, and I don't really see Montreal sending Hutson with the Rocket.

The Monahan trade is the only realistic one here, Savard isn't worth that much, I don't think EDM would trade a depth defenseman when they are a contender for Kidney who won't help them in playoffs.

Managers also don't send guys on ELC's from the NHL to the AHL where they lose hundreds of thousands of $$$ just to tank, that would not look good on Hughes or Gorton.

I do support the desire to lose some games though, winning the lottery and getting Cellebrini would be huge for the rebuild.
