Why on earth would the Sabres trade their BEST- and only RD who is playing well this year- for a Center???

If anything,
we’d wanna do the opposite & trade a forward for a RD

I can’t see any way the Sabres would make that trade
Not right now
Maybe if we acquire another good RD, then- and ONLY then- would it possibly make Jokiharju expendable

They have benched him multiple times, not due to his skill. Seems they don't want to use him. Colton would be a great bottom 6 C to replace Mitts or Krebs

Mitts & Krebs aren’t going anywhere
We couldn’t even get value for Krebs if we wanted to
And just bc YOU would trade Mitts, it doesn’t mean Adams would
It’s all highly unlikely

I get that’s what you would do
But it’s highly unlikely Adams would

Let’s just say Mitts was traded for a top4 RD though
All that does is open up a slot for one of our good young players who are ready to make the roster

If Colton was a legit shutdown Center,
that would be one thing
But i don’t think he’s that guy
Idk, maybe he’s better than i think?

If Adams employs a coach that isnt using a player, i'd assume there is discussions why, especially because he is RFA. If he isnt going to use him, they wont resign him just because. So it depends what those conversations are. there is no way he should be sitting for Erik Johnson or Clifton, so idk what their opinion is of him

You should check out of this website if you think that Cgy trade is even in the realm of sanity. Absolutely delusional if you think Lindholm gets that. And yes I saw sign and trade at 8.5 m, which the Avs can't even afford.

You fill the 2C need, but make 6 other holes in the roster. Revert all the trades.

It’s not like Jokiharju has been a healthy scratch for half the season- he’s missed 8 games & idk how many of them were due to injury

And to your other point, maybe they (mgmt, coaches, etc) feel like they owe it to the Vets they signed as UFAs to play them
Not saying that’s right, but it happens

he was health bombed all 8, and Clifton, Dahlin, and EJ have been out, but when all 3 were healthy Joker was scratched. Dumb but thats not my decision

Idk the reason for the scratches, but correct me if I’m wrong here:
Seems to me that when Jokiharju is in the lineup, he’s in the top4 more often then not
Meanwhile, Clifton & E.Johnson don’t see as much top4 minutes

Jokiharju plays a full minute more per night then Clifton does,
and 3 & a half more minutes per night then EJ

So while i don’t have a good answer as to why Jokiharju has been healthy scratched at times,
he is getting more icetime on average than those guys u mentioned

Ducks aren’t trading their future 2C for a winger who is 28 and is in and out of the NHL assistance program.

Under what delusion are you laboring thinking that Anaheim entertains this trade for a nanosecond?

A 20 year old stud on his ELC for a winger signed through 34 with a full NMC, and Anaheims the one adding?

@ELI208
The Colton only cost the AVE's a 2nd.
Why does Buffalo need to add Jokiharju?

I doubt the Sabres would do it
We don’t need forwards, but we do need RD
Trading away Jokiharju just doesn’t make any sense

Nashville isnt paying you for what we gave you for free. Especially, when you consider he is producing at an even worse rate than when we gave him to you.

COL wouldn’t do Byram for Lindholm straight up. I mean does CGY really think they are getting 3 premium pieces for a guy with 2 goals in the last 26 games? Get real.
ANA isn’t doing that, but COL would do that in a heart beat
COL isn’t doing that BUF trade
NSH isn’t trading to get RyJo back so they can have his full $8M cap hit.

It’s a CGY fan that has them overpaying for Lindholm, robbing ANA and NSH go figure.

Gulyayev is signed in the KHL through 25-26. He won't touch North American ice before the spring of 2026 at the earliest.

Clifton actually has decent numbers and is a plus. That said, it's hard to figure Buffalo right now, I think there's a dominoe to fall. We don't know, but how much does Mitts want and how much are Buff willing to pay? As for Def, I think Joki could be in play, but... Last year our moves were Stillman and Greenway, I think a trade has to be in the works, whether that's at the TDL or after the season.
