Description
It isn't sexy but it is very on-brand for the Avs. I realize values may be a little off but I don't think it's terrible. I've included Nuke on the roster for playoff purposes; I think he'll be back before the end of the season.

I don’t know who Behrens is, but I doubt the pens are very eager to trade Ned right now

I don't see why CBJ would be interested in that package, and I don't see why COL would overpay for Ned like that.

Which is why I asked what else they would need. I think it's actually more likely they go for someone with a lot of experience like Reimer (who would also cost very little to acquire) but Ned is clearly playing better right now so I thought it would be worth asking.

LOL; the other guy thought that wasn't enough for Ned. What would CBus be interested in for an underperforming pending UFA?

It's not about the return, but Ned would get a 2nd at this point. The unrealistic part of this is that the Pens are unlikely to be sellers. They're deep in the mix for a WC spot and possibly 3rd place with all the games in-hand within the division, so as long as they're mathematically in this, Dubas isn't selling. But yeah, if he were to get move he'd get a 2nd.

Cool - I've seen different ideas using Ned but I can see why they'd want to keep him. Like I mentioned before, it's more likely the Avs go after an inexpensive vet like Reimer or even Kahkonen.

Just a pick is fine, Ros started the year looking like a true 2nd-line center who may fetch a 2nd at the deadline, got injured, and hasn't regained form yet. He's extremely streaky, and can play all facets of the game well...but just doesn't most nights. In a better system surrounded by players that have a fully formed prefrontal cortex, he'd probably look and perform much better.

I think he could go for a 3rd given the ever-thinning center market, but we certainly don't want a defenseman coming back (too many D has actually caused trouble this year), and don't have interest in AHL forwards/fringe guys (that's basically our whole roster, and most are younger with more potential than Meyers).

You can keep both guys if the cap/contract spots work, the 2025 3rd alone is probably enough to land him.

I mean Behrens is a 20yo D-man scoring 20 points in 27 games in NCAA, that's a decent prospect in there, meanwhile Ned is having a good season for a 2G, but was signed as an UFA this year after being waived last year...I don't see huge trade value in that. It was a risk from Pens to get him, and so far it's been worth it for them. Still, in terms of trade value, I'll say maybe 3rd, 4th round pick? Goalies don't typically have huge trade value, and Behrens is more than that...

As for Roslovic, he'd been underperforming, but so is the whole Columbus team as a whole (yet again). However, I don't see what would adding an 8th or 9th D and a 25 year old forward with not much development potential add to their roster either, would rather just swap Roslovic for a pick.

I get that. Hopefully the Pens don't completely sh*t the bed before the deadline, but if we do, Ned will be a great trading piece. He's having a heck of a season.

This doesn't cost the Avs anything.
What are the odds Behrens signs? He's a 3rd year NCAA player. He stays one more year he's a FA.
So would he even go to PIT?
Odds are low. I'd rather just have a 3rd round pick and be done with it. Don't need a head ache in return for a trade when I can get an asset.
