Most likely not as he just signed less than a year ago.

I doubt Severson waives and the Jets shouldn't consider getting involved with that contract. A stay at home physical type RHD would be preferable for Winnipeg as well, imo.

That is a good point though. Some guys might get a bit antsy.

I have said, Cody Ceci is the "fit" to play with #44 and his salary works well for the Jets as far as the cap..

Yuck, I'm not a fan of Ceci. I'd much rather have DeMelo there.

He’s posted very good numbers in Columbus despite them being bad from what I’ve seen

No he’s been bad. Always has. He’s not a top 4 on a contender

Ceci . Demelo is great. Ceci and Nurse xGF% is like 40% on their winning streak

Okay got ya'. I thought that's what you meant, but wanted to be sure. I agree, I've never liked Ceci.

I don't mind Severson. I don't think he's as good defensively as the Jets really need, but he could still work. I'm just not sure I want the Jets paying him $6.25 until he's 37.

I think the chances of him waiving are low, but still higher than most would imagine. He’s also from Manitoba, so maybe he sees it as a sort-of homecoming.

Severson was signed to appease Babcock in a short-sighted, dumb move by Jarmo. Same with Provorov (though he has actually bounced back in a nice way). Chances are slim-to-none, but I’d be seeing if someone would want him.

OK,.. keeping in mind the salary range of Ceci (3.25), RHD, who would you suggest? I would move Schmidt out of the D group in Wpg, keeping 44, 5, 54 on the left side and 2, 4 & ??? on the right. I also, don't think Heinola is the answer as well with this D group...

If he were to waive to go anywhere, I could see it being Winnipeg. He's probably not looking to move again right now, and it would be a bad look for management to trade him so soon after handing out that contract. If management gets fired, maybe, but then you'd think the players are ok giving new management a shot.

I don't like the idea of 7 full season of 29 year of Severson on any team.

Yorkton boy of that age doesn’t remember the 80s oilers, but probably 04 flames or 06 oilers, or the excitement of the jets reappearing, guaranteed he has buddies that can still recite some of those rosters and hard core fans of all three. If there was any sort of plus money involved I would bet he waives, not even knowing him.

Pulock, would work as well? Would he move back to MB?

Probably only comes if asked by isles to waive. Filling a childhood dream of playing for the islanders, jets picked morrissey a few ahead of pulock, I was hoping for pulock, but the jets got it right

Was surprised to see players like Severson and J. Gaudreau sign in Columbus. Don't know what they saw other than a big paycheck. Always liked the idea of Severson and Pulock in a Jets uniform. If Pulock doesn't like his new coach then I would open the vault to get him. Demelo is good but without Morrissey he is just a solid 5-6 dman.

I mean Demelo was also good with Chabot throughout the rebuilding years. They posted positive numbers together when the team was the worst in the league. Always weird to see why they traded him
