I'm not really a believer in offer sheets. Can't the Sabres sign a comparable UFA for about 8.5m and keep the picks.

OK... I'm going to go ahead and burst everyone's bubble on Casey... He's not worth as much as everyone says he is. Yes he's a good hockey player, yes he was a former 1st Round Pick... He's just not that expensive as everyone puts him

Only bubble you are bursting with that is Sabres fans who are trying to sell high on him before his metrics even out. He's a ~5M middle 6 player that's going to be asking for over 7M this offseason. He's good but not great. That is a horrible trade for Boston

First of all, Jarvis isn’t going anywhere. Second of all, Rod is also not going anywhere. If the Sabres want any chance of getting the Canes to not match, it would require the compensation to be in the 4 1st round pick realm. As it stands, the Canes would just say thank you very much and match whilst re-signing Rod.
