Man that would have sucked for Van. I would have asked for way more prospects

Necas is PPG, Nikishin is gonna be really good, KK is a bounceback candidate, plus a first and second. I thought this would be too much lol, but I guess you could also add Morrow or something

They're going to actually pay assets for this Pylon, and then give up another pick to retain salary. That's so bad

Rielly does well with guys like Lybushkin. Dont question it just go with what works

Rielly has strong b2b playoffs being paired with Lybushkin and Schenn last 2 years

Would not really look at his ANA stats as when he was with TOR he left with a 97% on EVD per Jfresh being paired with MO

Got to look at how he played with MO and outside of ANA. He was good in ARI with Chycrun and when he came to Toronto they paired him with Rielly and results were fine

Rielly does well with guys like this so yea. Hes big, plays physical, is a defensive D, and when he was here last time was fine.

Its basically not egregious and Leafs keep their 1st to use elsewhere if they so choose.

Thought he'd get a third and fourth from someone desperate. Good deal for both clubs.

A 3rd and a 6th is fine for 75% ret. TOR still has its 1st and cap space to spare

Boosh and Mo also did well when paired together last time so yea

Also notice how nobody complained when Dubas trades for Boosh but when Tree pays less its bad lul

So apparently this is not the only trade where a third party could be involved for us

Interesting

Leafs right side is done IMO as Liligren and McCabe have been good there and Boosh should slot in fine next to MO

If they get another Dman I think its the left side as to who idk

I think they gonna target a forward now. Someone who can slot in anywhere top 9 who is 2-way and has some term or RFA.

Toronto was playing 6 lefties tonight and Keefe does not seem okay with that.
They aren't going to give Lyubushkin 20+ minutes. He was a depth pickup.
I don't follow the Leafs as closely, but I think they are still in the market for a better partner for Rielly.

I mean Liligren and Timmins are not gonna be out forever lul

Rielly-Boosh
Brodie-Liligren
Benoit-McCabe

Those pairs have worked respectfully in their own right before

And no need to play Boosh for 20 mins. Last time he was here they played him 16mins

McCabe, Brodie, Rielly, and Liligren (when back) will be eating the ice time with Benoit an Boosh playing around 15-17mins

As for Rielly he does well with guys like Boosh

Look at the last two playoff results for him. Partners were Schenn and Boosh

Dont question just do what works

If they get someone its probs to make Benoit the #7 or to push Brodie down

A tale of two teams:

San Jose Sharks don't have a single defenseman on their top powerplay unit, and running only Ferraro on their 2nd.

Colorado Avalanche use Makar on top unit but their 2nd has Girard, Byram, and Toews.

Modern day NHL success comes down to puck control/offensive skills from the back end and San Jose has dreadfully little.

I hope their young guys like Thrun, Emberson, Addison, Okhotiuk, Mukhamadullin, Cagnoni, and Havelid can turn into something for them or this rebuild could be a decade long death spiral.

Their games are so played so slow I swear I'm watching an NCAA game when they have the puck.

Please don't ever compare Savard to Ilya, also put the pipe down.
