I mean BUFF potentially now has one of the scariest young Dcores in the NHL

Byram has slipped this year but next year if he gets back to form it could be scary.

It's not THAT bad for Colorado. Middelstadt is a good fairly young 2C

I wonder if TOR can now call Buffalo on Byram or one of their young D

As they have so many now and with Byram being a lefty on top of Dahlin and Power things get interesting

Sure but there was a whole article about the advantages/disadvantages on that stuff. Basically to sum youn want these guys on their strong side with there being a few exceptions

For BUFF if thats the case Byram would be third pair

Byram is still a very young defender and was a top 5 pick for a reason. Only knock on him is his Concussion issues

Top end potential, he'll be a mid 2nd line center. Really suited for 3rd line.

Kinda in a spot where it was time to get paid but for whatever reason buffalo didn’t want to or he didn’t want to sign there. I think that combined with the sabres then wanting an nhler in return resulted in where this ended up.

I dunno that he has any on ice issues that caused this, just is time for term contract.

It's $8M. The retention would go away with his contract as well.

True but whats better winning a cup or 8m?

Lots of players can make money few can get a cup

Can always get that money later after winning cup as he can just go sign a few 3m deals. Bogo did something similar and it paid off for him.
