Yeah saw this mock trade a while ago and it’s absolutely horrible. I don’t think Guentzel will get that return let alone Henrique

I like the idea of double-retaining on Allen and Henrique to boost the price. But it may be disallowed by league. Saving grace may be different term.

So small market, bottom five revenue Anaheim is going to retain on Allen instead of the massive market, highest revenue Montreal. A Montreal team that could retain, but just doesn't want to???

The only team that this trade makes any sense for is the Habs and they have the least bit of it. Allen retained for a 3rd.

Oof. No way the Avs are trading a 1st and Ritchie for a 34 year old rental and an overpaid backup goalie...

Yikes

I don’t think you guys taking into account how much money the ducks are eating in this trade. We’ll call the Henrique retention a moot point because that’s gonna happen no matter what and it’s only one season.

But the ducks retaining in Allen this season and next while also taking Johansen’s 4M for next season is pretty expensive part of the deal.

If Colorado wanted Jake Allen, they could pay a third for him.

If Colorado wanted Adam Henrique with 50% retention, they could pay a first and Behrens for him.

Getting rid of Johansen isn't worth losing Calum Ritchie.

Exactly! Ritchie is borderline untouchable, unless we can get a young, cost controlled center who can be a long term solution
