I think the Jets will keep Schmidt as he is a good on the 3rd pairing but with an inefficient contract.

I think the time to make a decision on Schmidt contract is in the offseason. The problem of doing that now is that you have to replace (just before the playoffs) half of a 3rd pairing that has done well this season.
