Great re-sign. Its always shame that team legends cant play they whole career in one team, but i am happy to see Quick found place where he enjoy to play and live. Great bounce back season from him. LAK will likely retire his number once Quick retire.

yeah, LA could use him too.... I'm starting to think Blake might not be the best GM of all time...

He's been good but to be on the safe side due to age NYR should sign a third guy this summer

Overpay a number 3 to avoid a waiver loss (1-1.1m)

Who knows what that dynamic was like; it was during the season that Quick didn't seem to accept that he was a 1B/backup goalie. He was pretty upset about his deployment and if LA offered him $1 million to be that at that time he might have been pretty upset/disrespected. His trade to CBJ/VGK and signing in NYR was the humble pie he needed to reset his own expectations.

All my own $0.02 as non-insider/silent observer. Great on him to still be making a relevant impact in the league though and pushing for those all-time American goalie records

True we don't know the specifics but also he was good in the room and a part of that core that won twice... so they decided to pay Talbot and Copley instead? Trade for korpi?? just seems short sighted, even at the time i was like "YEESH"

and the reax at the time too, everybody thought it was bunk to move him to COL... and now with how Dubois has played this year... and how much they gave up for him... like Vilardi is better haha

Dems my .02 bro beans

I can’t fault LA for letting him go. He was not very good there at the end, and the salary cap doesn’t give you the luxury of keeping guys around for sentimental reasons.

It’s hard to feel sorry for a guy with three Stanley Cups who’s still playing meaningful minutes at his age, but this would be a feel good story if I didn’t hate the Rangers so much.

well they could use him as well, so not only was it a bad idea for sentimental reasons, I'm pretty sure it messed up the room for a sec and players were actually mad about it.
