Trying a few different ideas

Created by: mcgruff16
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 4, 2024
Published: Mar. 4, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
DET
  1. Roy, Matt
Additional Details:
Both expiring deals, similar ages, good d-men, totally different games. Looks like LA has more RD depth, they can use Ghost or flip him.
LAK
  1. Gostisbehere, Shayne
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (DET)
2.
DET
  1. Kähkönen, Kaapo
Additional Details:
Both expiring deals, KK younger hence the 7th kicker. SJ can keep the vet Reimer or flip him.
SJS
  1. Reimer, James
  2. 2025 7th round pick (STL)
3.
DET
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Not necc CH, could be any contender that needs depth scoring. Could be a 4th that becomes a 3rd if he plays x number of games given his injury history.
CAR
  1. Fabbri, Robby ($2,000,000 retained)
4.
DET
  1. Tuch, Alex
Additional Details:
Here's the stretch. I like Tuch a lot but he's bordering on too old for their core. He's going to run out of contract before Buffalo can contend w/ Dahlin/Power etc. Getting a 1st, a 2nd, an NHL-ready young forward and a B+ D prospect.
BUF
  1. Berggren, Jonatan
  2. Wallinder, William
  3. 2025 1st round pick (DET)
  4. 2026 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Top 10 protected 1st
5.
DET
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
They'll need to get to the cap floor after some of their dead contracts come off the books and/or any TDL trades. The 3rd back might be ambitious but it's a low one.

Tuch won’t get traded. Realistically the Sabres will be in contention next year they had 91 points last year and missed by 1 point. They took a step back this year mostly due to a bad power play and injuries.

LA is without their shutdown Mikey Anderson right now, more offense isn't exactly the need when the KIngs have Clarke and Spence. Roy isn't going anywhere this season.

Tuch would be awesome but that won't happen. Why would Arizona take Holl really, might as well spend the money better in the off-season. We should have been in on LA defenseman in the off-season when you could have had walker or durzi for a good price.

Tuch is not available and even if he was he would not be traded in the division. Even if he was traded in the division it would not be a futures deal. Even if it was a futures deal it would be better futures.

... Why is Detroit trading damn near as much for Alex Tuch as Vegas did for Eichel, which Tuch was a part of?

i like the Fabbri trade, ik he is a fan favorite, thats a spot that Berggren can fill easily and less injury prone

Tuch is likely to be the Sabres next Captain
He’s basically untouchable

Agreed. 1st and 2nd, yes, but Berggren now isn't as good as Tuch then, and Wallinder now vs. Krebs then? I don't remember but prob a toss up.
