I've never understood people's infatuation with Comtois, he was the best player on a terrible ducks team a few years back (and wasn't even that good) and then he suddenly became very coveted around the league.

For what comtois is, this is a good signing, but he's not some kind of a game changer.

Desperate for goals much?

People forgot real quick why he was not resigned.

Solid move. No risk and if he plays well you can bring him back. Young too. Good move for some free depth.

No that isn't the reason for the signing... it's probably the fact that he is now second in line to be called up in case of injury. It's to insulate some of the other prospects from being called up in case of emergency

Kinda crazy it took this long to sign him to such a low risk deal.

Hopefully he turns his game around, went from a good young player to being waiver fodder pretty quick.

There’s no way this can be bad. He hasn’t exactly been tearing up the AHL, but he was a useful player in Anaheim not too long ago, and it never hurts to have another guy with NHL experience to call up in case of injuries. He has some good IIHF world championship experience too, which is kind of like playoff hockey except that nobody in North America other than the players’ families cares who wins. Worst case he stays where he is and costs them zero cap space and only an AHL salary.
