Big signing by Briere! Didn't think they should trade him. Seeler definitely deserved this.

Much better value than the 3+ he was asking for. Solid signing by Briere, term is a bit iffy though

Great Signing, less action at the TDL now.

4 years seems like pretty long though.

I guess Tortorella really wants him to be part of their future. Makes sense to me.

Yeah more than likely. For how he's been playing this year it's well earned, shouldn't be a burden long term if the cap keeps rising too

I like Seeler and I dont think this is going to matter a whole lot, but that seems a little long. Its a fine enough signing but I dont love it

Good for Seeler who at age of 30, hasn't made "much" money by pro athletes standards
Four years starting at the age of 31 always seems iffy. Some guys just fall off the cliff sometime in their early thirties.

Term seems a bit long for his age, but maybe that was the trade off for keeping the AAV below $3M. Giving a full no-trade clause to a 3rd-pair defenseman seems crazy though. Next CBA should put a limit on the number of no-trade and no-move clauses a team can give out. Those should be only for stars.

That term is risky, especially given his age, but the cap is fine for a 3LD.

I remember watching Seeler with MIN, and I was never a fan, even though I wanted him to succeed. I am thoroughly impressed by what he's done despite basically not playing at all for two straight seasons. He was the ultimate Cinderella story before Cody Hodgson this year.
