I really thought Kostin was going to have a career year after last year in the playoffs. Fair deal. Simek can add some depth for the D-core

Going from having McDavid and Draisaitl to DET does have a way of impacting guys

Never seemed to fit there

I think Detroit wins here. They got a pick and Simek is on an expiring contract. Kostin is overpaid compared to what he would get on free agency with his production this year.

San Jose gets a useful NHL body and Detroit gets an expiring contract + dumps Kostin's 2 mil cap hit for next year to help clear the way for Mo/Ray's extensions and also gets a lottery ticket.

I'd say fair deal

Good deal for SJS.

We need depth and Kostin COULD become something fairly good for the bottom 6.

An AHLer and a 7th round for a player in the NHL. Sharks win.

Chipping away cap space so they're not nickel and diming after signing Seider, Raymond, and hopefully Kane.
