I wonder about Cozens being a good fit for us at 2C long-term

25 year old Brayden Schenn was traded to STL by PHI at the 2017 draft for two 1sts and Jorri Lehtera (cap dump, 4.7M x 2y)

Schenn had 55 points in 79 games with Philadelphia that year

23 year old Cozens is on pace to finish with 51 points in 79 games

So it's essentially the same deal except for the cap dump

BUF has a bunch of young centers with high potential coming up (Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Krebs), so maybe they'd be willing to part with Cozens for a good deal? Lmk in the comments if y'all think its enough

Id give clifton for kampf lmao and id have to think about that.

I suppose maybe i understand your logic, but Savoie and Kulich are going to be wingers in the NHL. And Ostlund is 2 or 3 years away. Can't trade both casey and cozens in the same year and not replace them with someone better.

There is zero chance Tavares is waiving for Chicago, especially when he see's who he'd be playing with on the Hawks 2nd line. And the Hawks aren't just gifting the Leafs $11m in cap space. Maybe try putting him in the trade w/ Buffalo in place of Kampf.

Why do so many want 30 year old Pesce signing a seven year contract with Leafs?
Instead of Cozens. Leafs keep their picks, and come summer of 25/26 the Leafs decide how to spend 22m when Tavares and Marner become UFAs.
Never mind the ridiculous trade to the Hawks. Tavares isn't waiving in what may be last NHL year.

Really, really poorly thought out. JT waiving is pure fantasy; Sabres trading Cozens to divisional rival is also pure fantasy. Signing Pesce to 7 years and at that aav is nonsensical ; really poor
