Buffalo doesn’t need a 4M winger who’s bad

I can’t see ANY reason the Sabres would do that
Rakell’s contract is just too long- don’t see us interested at all

Why would the Sabres trade Jokiharju for a cap dump? The Sabres only trade Jokiharju because they can't afford his next contract.

If Heinen costs 1.1 and Smith costs 2.5 and a 4th, Boston should just re-sign Heinen, which I think they intend to do.

I can't imagine he'll make that much. He's not much more than a 3rd pairing guy and is pretty established in the NHL already.

COL isn’t spending resources to add over $3M for bottom 6 guys especially guys they let walk.

I can't imagine Kyle Dubas signing Ryan Graves long-term and then giving up on him after only one season. (Reilly Smith is a different matter because he's a short-termer.)

Grundstrom's Qualifying Offer is $1.3 million, and we wouldn't be exchanging him for Jesse Puljujarvi just to pick up an over-the-horizon third.

Jeff Skinner, Alex Tuch, Jack Quinn, John-Jason Peterka, Zach Benson -- which one does Rickard Rakell (at a cap hit of $4 million) replace? He's not having that much of a better year than Jordan Greenway, who's a much better third-liner at 75% of the cost.

Jokiharju's Qualifying Offer is $2.6 million -- which Anaheim would probably be happy to pay. He is, after all, the plus-minus leader on the Sabres, so he isn't terrible.

My guess is Heinen gets closer to $2M after this year. If Boston offers a 3 year contract, maybe they get him for a tad cheaper
