I think the Flyers might be looking to resign TK now, but this is what I would consider the trade value to be if he were to be traded.

Gallagher at 3.25 isnt a negative value asset especially to that degree.

All of gallaghers underlying metrics are still fantastic he is sitting 9th in 5 on 5 ixG/60.

He does all the things he does when he was a 30 goal scorer he just doesnt get the linemates or playing time anymore.

I dont think thats enough for Koneckny AND 50% retention.

Holloiway is 22 yrs old, an expiring RFA, (who probably goes from 925k to 1.25mil, who over 3 seasons on a very good scoring team has just 13 pts in 83 games, and just 4 pts in 32 NHL games this year
The 1st is TWO drafts away and late in the round.
The 2nd is probably a nice mid round or high round 2nd, but again TWO drafts away.

I think they get better offers: higher in round picks or better prospect. Not bad but with 50% retention, I think they do better

Montreal isn't trading Gallagher and don't need the space, but they sure as hell aren't going to retain 50% and add if they have to eat Ceci's contract.

Edmonton is a Cup contender, they aren't in the business of taking bad contracts for picks. You're way off on that one.

Honestly, it would make more sense simply to buy Gallagher out. The loss of positive assets, the retention slot for 3 more years and the dead cap outweigh the extra 3 years of dead cap from a buy out IMO.
