If they resign Montour and Reinhart, maybe not.

And that's a no from Ottawa.

Don't see Florida letting Lundell go, Florida values his ability to play center vs wing. they're not afraid to move on from high-scoring wingers (i.e. Huby), also Ottawa declines for sure

If ottawa doesn't have the mentality to acquire 2 young nhlers under 23 yrs old and a 2nd round pick for a guy whos a good 3rd liner who can bail you out on line 2 from time to time... they are nuts. Greig aint a star. Kid is shooting 13% this year while avg 15 mins TOI. I like him because he plays the game the right way. He's not worth more and ottawa should retool their team from a-z.

Lundell is good, but the chance to get Montreal's unprotected 1st with that roster might be to good to pass up. Especially since the Sens definitely don't do that trade.

Why would Montreal give away a top 10 pick for a 3rd line center?

Ya agreed. MTL only does this if they can aquire another talent up front (like greig). They aim to give away their 10th-20th ovr pick. Lundell is a crazy good player.

if only you knew my friend... lundell is easilyyyy a top 6 player for years to come. He's the equivalent of a 15th overall pick. Worth the gamble on the incertainty of the pick

Even with a Greig, I'm not sure how that D core keeps them out of the bottom 10 considering the division they're in. Internal growth is probably more important than external acquisitions.

Zero chance Florida should match that contract. Lundell has done nothing to suggest he is worth that cap hit next year.

If you don't have the mentality to understand that there is only one NHL player going to Ottawa in that trade and that one player plays a position Ottawa has an abundance in. Even if Greig is a full time third liner, he's going to be a really good one just because, as you stated, he plays the game the right way. Also, just because you think they should retool the team from a-z, why the hell would they trade a 21 year old, with potential, for two 23 year olds?

Lundell has played like an average/slightly above average 3C for the last two years. Average mobility, average offensive production rates, good- not great defensively, not uniquely physical, not a gifted or high volume shooter or playmaker. What exactly do you think he does well?

Plays behind a stacked top6. no opportunities. Shoots a sad 6% this year :O.... 15 mins TOI in his 3 years with the panthers.... No progression... his rookie year was crazy! D+1 PPG in liiga is craaazy too

NHL 94 easy mode. Offersheets aren't a thing since Dundon & owners slapped Molsons hand. Stealing Greig for a bowl of cheerios is also dreamy

Greig is also a rookie . He will be an excellent 2 way middle 6 player who will make clutch plays like Pageau did for us but he has more offence to him than Pageau

It’s not necessarily that your value for Grieg is off. It’s for the same reasons you want him on MTL that it makes sense for Ottawa to hold onto him

He's been nothing special the last two seasons and if you want to look at shooting%, his on ice shooting% was very high his rookie season. He's not getting especially tough deployment either.
