Ottawa is only interested in Pageau if the Islanders retain 50% of his salary.

Sorry.

I think the caps would be silly to not take this but that’s just me.

Seriously. The only way they get a deal that sweet is if they have a coupon or something. Any trade for Brock that doesn't include a 1st or a top prospect is a fleecing of the Islanders.

Too much cap being traded without any being returned. Teams can't afford iffy contracts any more than the Isles can.

Yeah I was thinking there’s no way that the isles trade one of their franchise faces for less than a first rounder. I know he’s starting to get up in age but he’s very productive, can play center or wing, and not making an absurd amount of money. That’s exactly what the caps would need.

Keep Anders the cap space is much more important to the Avs than anything he can bring to the table er ice… also the first is worth way more than an aging winger at 7m producing 30 points. Honestly I wouldn’t make the trade if the first was coming to the Avs as well.

Edit. No flipping way the Avs get Lee. We just paid a first to get rid of ryjo and he was only making 4m. It would take multiple firsts to take your cap dump.

There's definitely a timeline where the Blues jump at that Nelson deal if Washington doesn't.

And that doesn't even include the “tax” for trading him to a division rival.

Easy no for the Avs. No need, not giving up a 1st and no cap space.
