I'd prefer a long-term deal for Pinto over a 2-yr bridge (cap is an issue, maybe no TvR?), but otherwise I'd be happy with this team. Seems solid throughout.

Yeah 4 lines deep, 3 pairs deep and 3 goalie system. Defensively a much better team too.

And the picks will improve the prospect pool

Caps would definitely do that.

I like Batherson, but I guess it will depend on what happens with Monahan and Tafolli. I'm also not sure the Jets would add a 1st to Lambert.

i think you would get a lesser prospect than Lambert, overall very realistic.

For the contract Batherson is on it will cost more imo

Some nice moves Csick, like Windjammer said not sure Jets make that move as enticing as it is. If the jets fall short quickly in the playoffs , perhaps they would.
The only thing I am leery of is 5 year deals for players in their 30’s. I realize Ottawa will need to over pay to entice people to come , it’s a slippery slope.
Your offer for DeMelo is 1 year longer and 500k more than I would be willing to go but , that offer may land him.
The more I watch Chychrun play the more I feel he is overrated. Not physical enough for me.

I think at some point you need to keep the younger guys on the shorter deals so they continue to try and earn it on a nighly basis. Sanderson and Stutzle at 8x8 should give more than enough surplus value to build around that, not sure we need pinto in the same boat. Complacency has been a huge issue for us this year.

i think its possible, think you might get a decent prospect but jets with their cap situation could prefer to keep him in my opinion

I like the idea csick but I just don't think that the Hurricanes will move Fast... he's been an excellent role player.
Just as an FYI... Martinook and Fast work amazing on the same line

just strop with the sens ACGM you seem to keep making them worst

Bath is worth so much more than a B prospect and a late first.

and Chych is worth more than pageau, which OTT would not want at all and a mid teens first, OTT will get much better offers for chych

easy no on WSH deal, OTT needs actual CONSISTANT G.

I don't hate Chych but I don't think I make that trade if I'm in charge of the Islanders.

Going into next season NYI have $6.875M in cap space available with 9 F / 6 D / 2 G under contract - swapping JGP out for Chych (plus the $1M retention) knocks them down to $6.275M in space with 8 F / 7 D / 2 G. I'd also say that since they already have Adam Pelech, Ryan Pulock, Noah Dobson, and Alex Romanov under contract for next year (plus 6x$3.5M left on Scott Mayfield's deal), there really isn't a glaring need that Chychrun fills here - they already have a fairly solid (and costly) defense, so spending a 1st rounder and eating some cap to basically make the 3rd pair better feels like a bad allocation of resources to me.

why trade batherson though? he's hardly the issue with this team. sure, he shows up once every six or seven games but he gets away with that for having back to back 20+ goal seasons and a nice team friendly contract. Not to mention, when he's locked in he's one of the best playmakers on the team. Guy makes some unreal headsdown passes right to the tape
