"Struggling" ? Really? Harris has been one our most consistent players this year, and has been solid in almost every game. He is definitely not struggling. He is definitely available due to depth on LD, but we aren't underselling. Prob try mid 2nd if you want him

Obviously Montreal doesn't agree to such an awful "offer".

MTL already has 24 draft picks in the next 2 years.

They sure ain't giving away a young RFA nhler for low picks.

I think he is butt hurt cause I said Hronek and Matheson have similar value. This is his 2nd or 3rd Habs thread since then all with similarly bad trades.

So which of these dman are in the AHL? Which get scratched and miss out on development time, which get forced down into lower AHL roles and limit development? Harris and Barron require waivers

Barron
Harris
Guhle
Matheson
Kovacevic
Savard
Struble
Reinbacher
Hutson
Xhekaj
Mailloux
Trudeau

Is this really a question? There’s 9 nhl ready D there and one of them (Trudeau) doesn’t have a huge potential and no waivers.

Matheson - Savard
Guhle - Barron
Struble - Xhekaj
Harris - Kovacevic

One of Kovacevic, Struble, Harris and Xhekaj will get traded. If not, we just keep it like this and roll like we do this season. A big rotation between Struble, Xhekaj, Harris and Barron.

I've made one habs thread since september. i appreciate you attempting to stir the pot after I kept my reply on your thread amicable. I also like how habs fans can sharply overvalue their players but its the end of the world the second a different fanbase underrates one of their players.

He doubled down after trading Harris to the Blues for a cap dump and ppl said he didnt know Harris.

And they have 12 picks in first 3 rounds the next 2 drafts. They need actual players RN not more magic beans. They wont have enough contracts to give out. Nothing about this trade makes any sense with zero research.

Really? So this thread and the thread titled "I don't usually build this team" (see link) don't count?! Literally both made in less than an hour after I said Hronek has equal value to Matheson. That seems pretty retaliatory to me.

There’s a difference between underrating a player and flat out trolling you’ve already been told Harris is a good asset on Montreal so even if it was an honest mistake you arent even trying to show any levity at all but resorting to the lame and played out tribalism with this franchise has a few bad fans which represents the whole fan base
Stick to your lane in Vancouver. You aren’t close to understanding value here.

Hronak has more value than Matheson tho
A young RFA RHD vs a 30 years LHD with 2 years left …

This is a panthers post? Why are you continuing to try and beef when I have no intention on escalating this? I don't recall needing permission to make trades on a website that is meant to be for fun, nor do I take a post so personally that I am intentionally going to snap back with a troll thread. If I was troll posting or tickled by your thread, my response on it wouldn't have been conversational. I simply don't believe Harris, or heck even Matheson are worth what you think they are. That does not mean that I am going to angrily flame post for no reason.

The timing of the two threads and the fact that on the original one you were told you were severely undevaluing our players yet you didn't heed the advice or even consider rebutting why you think our players have less value is why everyone (me included) thinks this is retaliatory, if it's not then please explain why you think Harris is struggling or that Matheson who is currently ranked top 10 in league scoring on such a weak team isn't worth more than Chairot got traded for, or is your argument that Chairot was a better D man?

Edit*** my apologies about thinking this was a Habs thread, I should have looked at that, I was kind of surprised at the creation of the Habs thread (which did totally seem like a troll thread given the timing and that, hence why I called it out) since I did think we were having a good civil conversation about Hronek vs Matheson even though neither of us were going to bend on our evaluations lol

sure, sometimes ill see a post and ill make a team, but i come on here for general interest in hockey - i know I have a rep of not being fond of the habs, but my primary interest is never to cause arguments or get roped into them. The timing does align, but the intent is not to troll or snap back. If the panthers had a 2nd in this post, I would probably say Harris could be worth it? I would disagree that he is really worth much more than that.

And it isnt that I think Matheson isn't valuable, he could get solid value. But the degree of upgrade for the canucks to weaken their right side, get older, and go at a riskier dman would need to be substantially larger than a 2nd.

Harris for a 2nd is about as high as most Habs fans have him too but you didn't even give him 3rd round value here, which basically says you think he is worth only slightly more than Erik Johnson who was traded for a 4th this past TDL, surely you don't think Harris' value is that low

players usually get moved for less in the offseason than the TDL. See Sean Durzi last year. I could see Harris going for a 3rd straight up though.

I get what you are saying, I will concede that given the lower prices from last offseason for D men that Harris might only return a 3rd this year.
