Pick #29. Colorado has basically no money to go out there and sign FA because of how many quality players they need to resign. Provorov at 2M would be a steal and is going to play in the top4. Cheap and very good replacement for Walker who is going to demand in the 5M range.

Avs decline, Prov wouldnt play over Toews or Girard, or Makar or Manson so 2m for a 3rd pair guy is a no go.

Manson is probably going to get traded to save $

Colton and Wood are the easiest to replace with the best cap savings. Manson is the hardest to replace. It's tough to find a mobile, mean, big dman who is excellent on both sides of the puck for less than what Manson makes.

Habs decline, I'd consider trading Kovacevic for a 2nd round pick or equivalent but no reason to give him away. He's a reliable 3rd pair RHD with size and he makes less than league minimum.

    This is spot on.
I do like the elias signing. It’s my hot take as to where he ends up but you could probably get him for less given his post trade performance. Haifin also seems a bit high but perhaps they are both a non contender extra premiums. Must say I thought Columbus should have been much better than they showed his year. Perhaps an experienced coach can get them turned around quickly.

Calgary is the wrong team to try to move Merzlikins to. Calgary needs to move a goalie out not bring another one in, especially not one making 5.4 mil AAV for 3 more years.

There is no way Chinakhov or Marchenko are signing back for that low of an offer or 3rd and 4th line minutes. Not very well thought out.

I stay so far away from that Lindholm contract, and I don’t think Hanifin is signing with CBJ.

Laine needs to go, Elvis needs to go, Provorov needs to go, probably some of our other F depth and D depth as well.

Jarmo made some short-sighted moves thinking this could be a competing team (Provorov and Severson come to mind) under one Mike Babcock. The debacle isn’t on Vincent’s shoulders. He hasn’t been great, but he got ****ed before he was even hired. Even for great coaches, that doesn’t exactly set people up for success.

If they want vets, fine - but the worst thing this team can do is try and sign more long-term contracts that don’t fit the timeline of the core of players this team is building around.

Also, assuming CBJ stay around the 4-6 range, it’s likely Cattan or Backstrom.

Provorov wouldn't be in the Avs top 4 so he's too expensive for a 3rd pair D. Avs decline.

No interest in Bean, but I can see them adding Provorov.

Lindholm and Hanifin? The GM is going to have a lot of work to do when all the young players will be needing new contracts.

The Blue Jackets should stay far away from over-paying Lindholm for a long time.

Hanifin I just feel is redundant in the long-term with Mateychuk coming up. Of course, there's no guarantee Mateychuk hits, but he's looking really good. If they signed Hanifin, there is going to be an NTC/NMC involved. That's going to make it very difficult for the Blue Jackets when Mateychuk wants a new contract. Not to mention the cap hit coming in the way of extending some of their other younger players.

The Severson contract really ties the Blue Jackets' hands with what they can do with their blue-line. Acquiring him and Provorov last off-season were just monumental mistakes. It's an overpaid blue-line with too much term as it is. Adding Hanifin only makes the situation worse, in my opinion.
