I don’t think Wyatt Johnston is a malignant tumor.

Well, Lee was bought out, and Pageau, while malignant, is much less deadly on a rebuilding team that bleeds goals like…ah never mind.

Not going to dig to deep on this, but there's no reality that would see Nashville choose to pay that for Nelson over Johnston.

JGP is a cap dump. It'll cost atleast a 2nd to move him to Chicago. Dallas laughs at that offer.

I don't think that trade makes much sense for the Jackets; there's a lot of good LDs coming up through the system already, and Danforth is a useful senior guy (of the type we don't have enough of).

And while Nelson could easily be of interest to the Preds, that price is too high to be willingly paid. The 1st in particular is kind of necessary; Nashville's prospect pool lacks superstar talent (and given how the team stays competitive, it's likely to stay that way) and so requires a continual influx of Just-Shy-Of-Blue-Chip types to keep things rolling. Maybe if the team was closer to Cup competition it'd be worthwhile, but that's not happening this year or next.

Some team might give you a late round pick for JGP but it won't be the Hawks. And Dallas isn't trading Johnston.

COLB jumps on that - are you danforth agent or mom, really a 31 yo with just over a season of NHL games in career

That offer for Johnston is hilarious, teams very seldom trade 20 year olds with two 20+ goal seasons under their belts.

It is also hilarious that you believe 32 year old Brock Nelson has the same value as 20 year old Wyatt Johnston.
