People will inevitably be offended by moving Power but eventually it has to be time to make a tough move

Would rather keep Jenner, Jiricek, and the 1st. Jackets really don't need to have nearly $18M tied up on the left side next season when they have Mateychuk coming. Not to mention the giant hole trading away Jiricek puts in their future top 4 on the right side.

Idk that it’s exactly that so much as it’s just sooooo unlikely to happen

It’s an interesting idea, but sticking to things closer to reality is better convo imo

Dahlin didn’t “break out” until his 5th season in the league

Power just finished his SECOND season

Maybe we should just give the kid a bit more time to develop???

There’s no need for the trolling

Seems to me like Crouse is ARZs version of Tuch
A guy everyone wants to get who they just aren’t gonna move

Power >> Jiricek right now, but in terms of expected ceilings, Power > Jiricek but it's not that far off.

I don't think a hole on the right side of the defense would be the reason to nix this trade. Power frequently plays on the right side. We'd be getting a bone fide top-pair D-man who can play on the right side, locked up for 7 more years already, at 21 years old...that never happens.

This trade never happens, Mittelstadt-Byram was considered a blockbuster and this dwarfs that 5 times over. But on pure value and need, I'd strongly consider it. As I said on the similar ACGM yesterday, Buffalo fans have been proposing Jiricek trades for months, and every time we say you're not getting him without Power or Dahlin coming back. Well...here it is.

there are no reasons to trade a guy that does a good job at everything - nothing great just a bit of everything. that is a very valuable player.

To be fair, nobody is suggesting we give him away. The return here is- a recent top 5 pick that may be a better fit for the current roster, a center who provides leadership, grit, talent, and a first round pick.

An “unhappy” top5 pick who doesn’t have Power’s upside
A 3rd line Center who ppl ONLY like bc of his toughness
And a first way off in the ‘26 draft

It’s not a “great” return
I’ll put it this way, if we’d have gotten that return for Dahlin after his 2nd year, would u like it now?
I wouldn’t

IMO, throwing in Jenner puts it right back into "nope no way no how" territory for me. We're already badly lacking in leadership and glue as is.
