Lmao as an outside observer this is absolutely atrocious!
Trading 2 premier names for a cap dump and slumping bottom 6 C to move up from a strong draft class to a much weaker draft class is absurd.

Neither team does this. Montreal shouldn't sell the future for 1 year of Crosby. They aren't there yet. Letangs contract also goes until he is 71.

Pits probably wants more or remove the cap dumps going back. But Montreal shouldn't trade the 1st overall for 1 year of Crosby.

'' move up'' is quite the euphemism to say getting first overall.

MTL definitely decline. These guys are nice, but if we get Celebrini, we keep him, not even a question

Without Crosby and Letang, that 25 1st is more likely to be 1OA than this years Habs pick is.

the title says ''trading first overall '', so i assume ours is already #1 and its after lottery.

Not sure you understand how slim your odds are of getting 1st OA

You realize this is a fantasy hockey board right? We are not actually changing the teams in real life when we make an ACGM. Would be extremely cool though.

So you trade 1OA, dump two god awful contracts, for 3OA at worst next year, Sidney Crosby, and 4 years retention on Letang

Not to mention next year's draft is much stronger than this years, and at worst you're getting 3OA, could very well get 1st.

Yes this is all fantasy but some like this one are a little to fantasy for me, and I read it as 10th for some reason at first

''at worst'' third overall. You have no clue where that pick land.

Without Crosby and Letang, yeah, I do, the Pens would finish dead last.

Bud have you followed the penguins at all this season? The only reason they're potentially sniffing the playoffs is because Crosby has put the team on his back, and it's going to come down to the wire and take a lot of luck from other teams faltering down the stretch.

You take away the 50 goals the two of them have put up this season, and neuter their ability to retool by saddling them with those cap dumps, and yeah, they'll be chasing 1st alright, 1OA.

Lottery protect the 25 pick and maybe this deal makes halfway sense.

Of course not?
Do you know who Crosby is ? Or letang ? And what they mean to the franchise?
That’s a franchise legend , one of the best players of all time , and even in his current age a top 5 center .
And a very solid top pairing defenseman who with retention would be dirt cheap .
If this was the bedard draft I could see an argument for Crosby alone *if and ONLY if* he requested a trade .
Definitely not both. With 10.4 in retention.
And no chance they take on two horrific contracts in return . Unless the value doubles .

I also find it pretty hilarious that Crosby is on the second line here lol
