They are similar. I give the edge to Hronek since he is a RD.

Personally I have traded for both at different times (to the Leafs) and signed them to a 7.25m x 8 year deal. I was 100k off on Hanifin. Anywhere between 7.35m-7.5m x 8 years would be reasonable for Hronek in my mind.

You've also got to take into account one of lowest taxed teams to one of the highest.

Although Hanifan might have preferred to play in the East......Tampa and Florida may not have the cap for him. Boston might spend their limited cap elsewhere...maybe a centre.
But playing for a contender, Vegas...certainly an option most NHLers would like.

Yeah Hanifin just signed his 8 year deal with Vegas, I think it was in the $7,350,000 per season range.

Just saying, to offer the same net income, Vancouver would need to offer around 8.6M. Crazy the difference.

That's the price of your not very good ,but free healthcare system (having worked on golf courses in the TB area for almost 2 decades I know a lot of snowbird Canadians and they all wait until they're here for everything not emergency needed because the quality is so much better.

Yeah obviously the Canadians who can afford a summer home in a different country have a different perspective on the benefits of free Healthcare than regular people. The money isn't an issue for them. It's good for MOST people in the country who don't want to be in debt forever because they had a hospital visit.

What about central and border Town western Canadian women who have serious pregnancy complications that get sent across the boarder because there isn't the neo-natal care availability. I'm not saying it's "bad" but the US Does have a much higher standard.
