I don't see a reason to trade Mercer unless its in a package for a better player

I think it's a underrated and bold take, but I have a feeling that NJ will gonna favorizing Holtz over Mercer. Also, looks what I said, they can use the pick in a package for Markstrom.

Devils wouldn't trade Mercer to get Markstrom I can assure you

Zero realism detected. Devils are not in cap hell that they need to move Mercer by any means.

He's more saying parts of the trade from moving Mercer, not all of it. Still not something the Devils consider.

Realistic? This looks like on ‘chel when the cpu keeps refusing your trade so you just keep adding picks till they accept.

- SJ likely gonna accept for only 5 spots in the draft, that's massive.
- NJ it's the one that I'm really not sure about it.
- Caps likely accept. Great guess for them.
- Torts will gonna be happy about it.

I'm aware that's why I said they wouldn't as in a means to acquire him

Barron and Dvorak aren’t going to make SJ want to drop 5 spots in the draft.

It's a strong offer, but SJ needs quality prospects at this point and their best bet to find one in this draft is with a pick in the teens.

Sharks might do that one. Kind of depends who's available at 16. If they end up getting Celebrini then they'll likely look to get a RHD and if Yakemchuk, Parekh are already gone then they may just trade back and get Misa or Jiricek around 23

flyers decline. they have zero need to move petersen and already have too many wingers. literally not a single flyers fan cares that anderson played well under torts in CBJ, he is not of interest

Sharks absolutely decline imo. That is a big cap dump we are trading back to acquire for a second, a sixth, and a guy we 9 of. Not worth it.

Stamkos is going to be 37-38 when MTL will really compete for the cup. He is not signing in MTL.

Hughes won’t sell low on Anderson and Dvorak. He’ll wait until they have a good year or until the end of their contracts.

Not good trades for the other teams, not realistic.

Trying to break that last trade into smaller steps.

First of all, buyouts are not limited to 3, retentions are. Secondly, cap wise Flyers doesn't have to buyout any contract.
Thirdly, you're thinking that because they "can't" buyout some contract, it would make sense to acquire more expensive and longer contract (simply put, a lot worse contract). And all that for a position where they already have more than enough players.
And lastly, Flyers would also be giving away the highest draft pick in this.

Did I get these steps in this "realistic" trade correctly?

"Pure Montreal Fan Fantasy" would be a better title.
