How very Toronto Maple Leafs of you to load up max out the cap block the young guys from a chance at making the team and leave the best D they have off the team lol.
Would this be a much better team? Obviously!
Is it the right way to rebuild? lol no!

This is not close to get Montreal to even engage in trade talks

Welcome to CapFriendly. Sometimes, it's not too friendly.

That Brodie contract is the biggest free-agent overpay I can ever remember seeing on CapFriendly.

The last thing LA needs next season is a 28-year-old left-handed rental bottom-6 forward with a $2 million cap hit. If we have that money to spend on such a player, we'll invest it in re-signing Blake Lizotte and keep the second.

Funny you should say that. This guy isn't even a Hawks fan but a Leafs fan lol.

that PHL trade LOL

The Jones trade to CHI might be one of the worst trades in the last 10 years.
Gave up a 6OA, a 12OA to get mediocre Jones and a 32OA.
This what happens when mediocre players get their name built up.
That 9.5 mil contract is unmovable.
Guy is probably the most beneficial player to hide his poor play behind Bob the wall at the peak of his career.

Not happening. Montembeault will be traded when Fowler enters the HNL and it will cost a 2nd and 3rd pick since we got a 3rd rounder for Jake Allen this year

Honestly, I would rather have Jones than Risto and a 2nd. It doesn't matter that we overpaid in the Jones trade or that his cap hit is $1 or 2M higher than it should be, it matters what he is as a player and what he is worth to CHI. CHI is not dumping or selling low on Jones and we are content to have him finish his contract in CHI. He already looks WAYYY better just having a consistently competent D partner in Vlasic, let alone how he will look in a couple years when CHI's rebuild starts coming together and we start winning again. He is a bonafide 1RD, and there is no doubt about that. Not to mention, you could remove Jones from the deal and I still probably wouldn't take Risto's contract on for a 2nd round pick. I don't trust that contract to age well, at all, and it's already looking not good for Risto and there are plenty of PHI fans who seem to want him off their team.

you really over rate jones. He's been exposed ever since he didn't have Bob standing on his head behind him.

Your take on Jones lacks context and has been proven wrong this season on a historically awful CHI roster.

Habs counter offer, Anderson + 2nd + 6th for Nezar

We don't want or need Mrazek, he doesn't fit our timeline any more than he fits the Hawks. The 2nd isn't even close to enough for the Habs to consider moving Monty and the 6th has no value at all, especially when you consider we have 23 higher round picks in the next 3 drafts including 8 in the upcoming draft alone.

BTW, I am not comparing the players or their value just used them to show how unlikely the Habs would be to consider this type of move. Mrazek has as much value as Anderson has to the Hawks and the rest of the package is underwhelming for one of our better younger players, I only chose Nezar because the Hawks would be as likely to move him as the Habs are to move Monty.

I'm not really a fan of this path forward. The Reinhart signing is fine...if he'd sign with the Hawks. We do need a legit top RWer. I'm good with getting 1 extra RD, but plenty of UFAs to do it. I want nothing to do with Risto quite frankly. Sign Demelo or Pesce or etc... physical RD veteran. Not Deangelo.

But we have soo many prospects that we need to develop. 1 forward and 1 Dman. That's about all we should be doing. Where's Reichel and Valsic? Or Kaiser/Phillips?

Then keep him. If they are going after a bonafide #1 Dman he isn't going to be 29 years old and traded for 3 years early in their Michkov timeline. Flyers want to get younger and build through draft. They easily wait out Ristos contract for 3 more years and draft with the second round pick rather than taking on a 29 year old with 6 more years at 9.5 million. The move just doesn't make sense for the Flyers right now, it's not about Jones, it's about the Flyers current plans.

Definitely. I want to keep him, and that is the plan as I understand it. Plus, he has an NMC. It's fair weather fans that don't know what they are talking about who want to move him.

My take on Jones is dead accurate but you have a hard time dealing with it.
He's a massively over paid over hyped player. But keep thinking that "horribly awful CHI roster" is always the fault of other people and not the guy you pay almost 10 mil per who can't perform anywhere near someone earning 10 mil per.

Uh huh.... Keep reaching. Jones is literally the opposite of being "hyped." Literally all you have to do is watch him play and you would see he has been fantastic for CHI this year, but if that isn't enough go check out his analytics through any model out there and it will tell you the same story. CHI is not ever going to dump or sell low on Jones and he has a full NMC, anyway.

Yes. Cherry pick one thing and think that it proves your point. I'm just done going in circles with you, and honestly I don't care what you say. Go worry about PIT, you troll.
