Doug said today he wants to build from within. I think that includes using his draft picks. I don’t love this and I don’t think it’s what they want to do when it comes to building a dynasty. But would definitely make the playoffs so if I’m stillman I’m all for it.

Can you name the last trade between the Blues and Hawks? I can't.

I think the Ducks should accept this.

A) Lots of LHD in the pipeline and Zellweger Mintyukov and Fowler are all already on the left side roster wise. Lacombe has a chance to be a solid 2nd pair defenseman if paired with the right guy.

B) Ducks would have a better chance at drafting Brandsegg-Nygard or Chernyshov who should be targets for the later pick if they are still there.

C) Ducks could use this pick to bring in a bigger fish.

I like this deal, wonder what Blues fans would say

I think this trade is becoming the trade of the summer for Ducks // Blues fans

Blues acquire Dick Redmond for Pierre Plante in 1978…

They did offer their 3 firsts fit the Patrick Kane pick but were rightfully denied.

I highly highly doubt the Blues move back in the draft

Would you feel the same way if you also moved UP in the third round? Second?

(As part of this deal, I mean.)

It was a great question and I wanted to go look it up. June 2016 and it was just a draft pick trade during the draft. Crazy.

No. I don’t see a world where Blues move back in draft. Might try to move up but not back

Ah yes, Pierre Plante. Of course. Did you know that off hand or did you need to look it up?

That was not a trade between the Blues and Hawks. The Hawks had previously traded the pick to Florida, who eventually traded that pick to the Blues.

Vlasic is worth more than a late 1st round pick and two lottery tickets.

Additionally, if he will sign 3x $4.5m Chicago would be all over that.

No one wants Faulk. No one. Especially TO in exchange for Liljegren

So let me get this straight: You're suggesting the Blues send #16 and #48 to the Ducks for LaCombe, EDM's 24 1st (probably somewhere between 23-24 and 32) and #35?

Did I get that all right?

The cheap part of me wanted to make it #80 and #67 but the honest part of me says it should be #48 and #35. And we don't bother to offer if the Edmonton pick is 29 - 32.

Gotta go back to 2010 we had the ole Boyle and Fallon for Toivonen and Richmond in a minor leaguer exchange

How do you feel about Buchnevich and #16 for Seattle's #8?

There was a comment from Francis this week about having to add an elite forward.

Would also have to bring at least tolvanen back as well in that kind of trade. Maybe more though

Buch is worth a helluva lot more than that. More like Buch and a late 2nd, tops.

Well, hold on now, let's not be too hasty. If the Blues can't trade up, and Jiricek is already gone before 16, I think Army might go for it.

You mean Buch and #48 for #8? I don't think that Seattle would go for that.
