Gignac and Norlinder would be of zero interest to Chicago and Ylönen is just a guy at this point that'll never crack a legit top six. So essentially the trade is Dach for a 2nd and 5th which seems decent value. Chicago is high on him but he has the same issues his brother has with staying healthy. When he is healthy though he's a very effective power forward. I don't hate this trade minus the three players headed Chicago's way but I think they decline in hopes that Dach can stay healthy.

I had pretty similar thoughts. I think if OP takes out all three players and adds Florian Xhekaj, I would be happy with the offer.

I think they're so infatuated with Xhekaj that it would take a gross overpayment to get him. I was thinking Kovacevic instead and extending him immediately. Dach may end up lost in the mix in the next few years anyways with the college and junior players making the leap.

I agree. We are very high on Florian. Kovacevic we would be willing to move. Jesse Ylonen is just buried on our roster, has sick mitts (albeit not consistent). The other two players will unlikely impact the hawks. But Gignac can play hustle player on the 4th line, and an extra defender in the minors is not terrible. (You can also let Norlidner and Ylonen walk)

I do not see the Habs going higher than a second + Kovacevic for Colton Dach. (ofc any of the aforementioned 3 players we would add to make the trade a tad more enticing.

I can’t see the Hawks moving Dach at this time unless they are overwhelmed by an offer and while this offer is probably close, I don’t think it overwhelms Davidson.

Yeah, these kind of quality vs quantity trades don’t occur with prospects like Dach. Theres not many comparables, and obviously the jabs fans want him because his last name is Dach, but if they want him I’m going to stick with an overpayment price of a first round pick.

For the record I think Colton Dach will be a better pro than Kirby Dach, not as skilled, but more effective in what is likely a middle six role. I think he makes the team next year on a third line role.

The issue with Colton is he's proving to be just as fragile as his brother and plays a more physical game. Not a recipe for longevity as a pro. I hope I'm wrong.

2024 Winnipeg 1st or 2025 Calgary 1st, otherwise the Hawks keep Dach. Yes, may be a slight overpayment, but it's going to take quality (not quantity as you have here) to pry him away. Dach looks to be a solid 3rd line player and young good 3rd line prospect/players will take a late 1st to acquire.

Harris needs to be moved, he is not good enough to be on the roster with all the d we have, let alone top pair.

Montreal doesn't want him in the East and he has more upside than what you see. It's forcing whatever team to acquire to not trade him back so we don't play him last often. (The point totals should probably be removed, but ... still would ask for it, wouldn't get it though)

Those are non-starter conditions for a 3rd pairing guy.

Who the Canadiens believe could easily move up within is 4 year. We are just loaded and did give him a space to thrive. If the conditions were removed then I am sure the Habs would want a fourth and another centre prospect (b-level) to make this work.

As high as MTL fans are on Florian, CHI should be more so on Dach. Kavacevic isn't interesting or valuable enough, imo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Kovacevic and Richardson have a great relationship in Montreal? Sounds like this could be a win-win if he was included with a 2nd for Dach.

Nah. That was some bologna a MTL fan made up or mixed up with another player on here a while back. Kovacevic didn't even join MTL until after Richardson was hired as CHI's head coach.

I would've fell for it too, but I remembered that he had just joined them at the beginning of last season, because I remembered wanting CHI to claim him on waivers, and LR was already with CHI. And I was like "wait a second!" haha
