Wow, congrats on being consistent, most of these are really bad for the Habs.

Zegras isn't worth passing on one of Lindstrom, Eiserman or Iginla.

Necas has a career average of 55 points per season, Guhle is worth much more than him.

Monahan, Roy and Stephen's are not what the team needs to be bringing in.

Why bring in Holtz when we have Roy who can fill that role and has done better at the NHL level?

Add Beck/Mesar for Ana and the value is there. Still expect a decline from Verbeek though

Anaheim declines. A bird in the hand is worth more than a bird in the bush. Odd that so many Habs fans just don't seem to grasp that.

And what happens when you draft the one of the three of them who isn't?

Like Jesse Puljujarvi, or Barrett Hayton?

I'm on board for the Holtz trade, but NJ doesn't have a spot for Savard. He's not getting into the lineup over any of Hamilton, Marino, or Nemec

Since the late MB era the scouting team has done a remarkable job finding quality NHL prospects and our new regime has done an even better job developing those prospects. I think you know how much I like Zegras and yes I agree that the prospects might not pan out whereas with Zegras you k ow you are getting at least a 60 ish point player. My initial reaction was probably too much reaction and not enough thought so I apologize. My fear would be giving up Zegras (or another player) for 5th and having Anaheim (or any other team) take Lindstrom or Eiserman and having them end up to be Ehlers or Marner types of guys. I know it's a small risk but it's just our luck that that exact situation would occur lol

Edmonton would do it with retention involved but not at 3.4 million.

Sean Monahan isn't returning to Montreal, It doesn't work that way once you trade a player.

Matt Roy isn't signing in Canada, And he sure isn't wasting his time on a rebuilding Montreal team either.

Carolina says hell no, Necas > Guhle

And Trevor Zegras sure isn't worth no top 5 pick in this years draft either.

The player available at the Habs pick has a lower ceiling than Zegras. Best case scenario is Anaheim ends up with an equivalent player to Zegras, but the player could bust, you need to compensate us for that risk.
