Buffalo Sabres 2024-25 Playoff Roster

Created by: SportsfanBUF
Team: 2024-25 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 25, 2024
Published: Apr. 25, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have no clue how to value Bottom 6 guys like Faksa and Jenner, I feel like I over paid but let me know.

I also think that Kevyn Adams gave us the hint that he's going to go aggressive this offseason so he'll be trading some prospects and signing to the cap.

Skinner to Toronto I feel like makes more sense than to buy him out and he would have his NMC because its where he grew up.

Hagel has been linked to being a potential trade candidate if the Lightning are going to try and resign Stamkos. Ostlund should make his debut after the 24-25 season and they get the 11th overall pick to start replacing the expensive talent Tampa might lose this offseason.

The rule of thumb for determining a viable Jenner proposal for Sabres fans is as follows:
Ask yourself "Would this package be acceptable for Alex Tuch?"
If NO: It is not acceptable for Jenner.
If YES: It might be acceptable for Jenner, but don't hold your breath.

The reasons why y'all wouldn't want to trade Tuch are largely the same reasons why we don't want to trade Jenner. And when I say "we", I include not just fellow Jackets fans, but also CBJ ownership, the CBJ front office, and Jenner himself - repeatedly, publicly, and explicitly.

Not even close to getting Jenner. He's the team's captain, all-time games played leader, current 1C (even though he really shouldn't be), has paced for 30g each of the last 3 seasons, he has 2 years left on a contract that is far below market value, he expressly wants to remain in Columbus, and he has the backing of ownership and management. It would take a ridiculous package to get him out of Columbus despite trading him being in their best interest for bolstering their future group.

I agree this is not enough for Jenner, but tuch is ALOT better than Jenner. No comparison

How so for Toronto? They give up a late 1st for a cheap scorer and a 2nd

Tampa might need 1 more prospect or 1st round pick but I think thats a fair trade.

What do you think would be a fair trade? 1st and a 3rd?

Yeah there is no chance TB is trading Hagel he just put up 70 + keeps getting better is a top PK& 2ND PP GUY is extremely good defensively. Signed 8 years @a ridiculously cheap 6.5 million deal.

I'd take a single prospect in the 19-22 y/o range who has a good shot at being a middle 6 forward one day and a pick in the late 1st to early 2nd range. It really seems like the Jackets management would need the equivalent of three 1sts though with how damn stubborn they're being about Boone being the heart and soul of the team.

i doubt tampa deals hagel for futures. They just signed him, and its a very team friendly deal.

The toronto deal doesnt make any sense either. Forget skinner for a sec, the leafs have made a whole thing about getting tougher. Theyre not going to go from guys like Bertuzzi to someone like Skinner.

Im also not sure where this notion that adams is going to get crazy aggressive in the off season is coming from either. He point blank told season ticket holders he was aiming for a 3C and depth. He may have to overpay for it, but thats not an indication that he's considering an aggressive overhaul.

I may be wrong but I believe he said somewhere that he was looking for an established top 6 forward to add to the group

The Sabres offer here is 4 firsts and a fairly early second. It makes me wish the Sabres would hire botterill just so they could fire him again.

Tuch is slightly more valuable but Jenner can play C and is good at FOs. I wouldn’t say “no comparison”.

So eone is lying because there is no chance TB is moving an 8 year deal at 6.5 of Hagel as a cap casualty . Stamkos is allowed to walk first. Whoever is "saying that is a mouth piece for a team that wants him.

Far from the quality I was suggesting, but it doesn't matter much what I think since it would be the Jackets management group and their ridiculous expectations that would need to be met to realistically get a deal for Jenner done.

I think we have discussed this before.
Up until the end of February Buffalo's top 3 centers Thompson, Cozens, Mittelstadt, of of the top 4 Defensemen Dahlin, Samuelsson, Jokiharju, top GK Luukkonen and top LW Skinner were all Botterill.
Jason has been gone for 4 years but his legacy lives on.
He was fired because he would not fire people to who he promised future jobs.

Yup we should fire him, Buffalo certainly does not want to have a competent GM.
I mean after all Adams traded Botterill RHD, Montour for a third, just a brilliant trade

GMKA can go to Free Agency for Forward help. Stephenson, Lindholm for cheap?, Marchessault. I like adding Jenner. Might be able to get a good deal on Atkinson. Losing Skinner is a good start; VGK could be interested when Stone goes back on LTIR next season

Love how he said add a player with middle six upside and a first and you add a third. With respect, get a clue. We want the equivalent of 3 firsts for Jenner. Or a really good prospect and late first. As he said. This offer doesn’t come close.
