You're right, running it back with Swiss cheese Georgiev is the answer

Avs should have absolute zero interest in Markstrom or even less, plus have zero cap space to actually be remotely interested. So the who is nobody.

they traded a 1st+ for DARCY KUEMPER and they got a cup out of him, a 2nd for markstrom is something they would do, they are win now thus the fact that he i 34 dont mater, what maters is is he still good.

Context matters: they didn't have a goalie so they overpaid for Kuemper

Say whatever you want about Georgie but he wins a lot of games because the Avs have the horses to outscore average goaltending (which, tbh, they have not always gotten from Georgie this season). Lots of people said the Avs had no chance of winning a Cup with Kuemper and they're saying the same things about Georgie (again, not entirely unwarranted given his play at times). They were wrong about Kuemper and the Avs are betting they'll be wrong about Georgiev. Some people disagree with that strategy but it's the one the Avs use so, from the Avs perspective, this isn't the kind of move they'd make even if they did have the cap space especially considering the limited assets they have.

Why is LAK paying so much more?

2nd, 3rd for Markstrom (at $4m) sounds plauisble

Has he struggled this year sure. But you’re only as good as your last game as a goalie particularly in the playoffs and “Swiss cheese” Georgiev has outplayed Helley in the series. Even if he struggled there is zero chance COL is trading for a 34 yr old $6M cap hit goalie. Zero.

They overpaid for Kuemper because they made a mistake and got caught short in the goalie market and that price you’re flashing also included retention and it was still an over pay.

Did I say they weren’t? But Kuemper wasn’t the reason they won was he?

40+ shots a game, is Hellebuyck playing great? No, his expected goals against so far this series is 12.7 though. Vasilevskiy has not been bad at all. Him and Bob have been equally as good

If Markstrom is traded this summer it will almost certainly be with retention, but again if Colorado wasn't so desperately tight on cap space they would take Markstrom for a 2nd in a heartbeat
