Lmao. The Marner trade is an awful proposal that will never happen.

TOR fans: "Marner sucks"

TOR fans in the same breath: "We want a gigantic haul for him!"

No chance the Hawks include either DelMastro or Rinzell in a Marner deal. If the Leafs want a prospect, the Hawks will send one of their 18 young forward prospects. And the Leafs can hang on to Webber.

I did not realize Marner was willing to sign an 8 year 6 million per extension.

-The Marner cost is a little heavy but I don't think it's incredibly outrageous. It's Marner + a B-tier prospect for a late 1st, an A-tier prospect, a B-tier prospect, and a pair of roster players for cap ballast - adding Kurashev here pushes it over the edge for me, though.

But, as Hawks fans have said - why would Chicago do this now? I don't think adding Marner makes them an instant playoff contender (although it gets them closer) - and if Marner's testing UFA next summer, why not keep this package and make a run at him in July 2025 instead?

-Doesn't make a ton of sense for San Jose here. I'd rather have Muk + his upside than Benoit at this point - no shade towards Benoit, but you basically know what he is. Muk showed some strong offensive in the AHL this year and I'd want to see how that might develop over turning a 6th into a pair of 5ths.

-Absolute no from the Isles. Dewar is a bottom-6 grinder (something they don't need more of), Liljegren isn't the defensive player that Pulock is so wouldn't be a good replacement (and needs a new contract), and Moldenhauer is more of a wild card than a sure thing prospect. I don't think the Leafs have the assets to make a Pulock trade work.

-Coyotes are not trading their starting goalie for a middle-6er and a smaller prospect who just missed the entire season with a shoulder injury.
